Years ago I came across this spiffy fire poi video by Nick Woolsey. I could watch it for hours and hours, and it's been driving me nuts that I can't figure out where the music in it comes from.

I emailed Nick to ask, and he said he couldn't remember, but he thinks the artist is Russian.

HOLY CRAP!! Phono (not to be confused with phon.o) has actually got some stuff up here– The Changeover and Dementia are listed on the profile now!! Is there music??? Music?!! Please tell me they put up some music so finally the world will get to hear them and last.fm will know phono is not some random stupid christian rock!! Except the damn page won't load right!! I finally got the last.fm radio playing stuff that I could stand, and almost immediately it started neurotically repeating certain random tracks way too often– CKY - Knee Deep for instance, and Gary Numan - Perfect Lie, Wierd Al - Going To The Hardware Store, etc. Just the fact that I can list a bunch of them off the top of my head is a pretty good indication of how annoying it is. Part of the problem is the way last.fm calculates playlists, and a bigger part of it seems to be that their selection is just too damn small.…

Okay, so Pandora DOES talk to last.fm after all. I feel foolish now, but I am greatly pleased. That is all.

The tracks aren't showing up in my 'Recently Played' thing at all anymore, so I have no clue if last.fm is actually getting the submissions, and if it isn't, I have no clue if it's on the pandora thingie end or the last.fm end with all the issues they have lately. Argh.

Just got here, still looking around– this site seems amazingly active, which is a good sign. It'd be nice to have a more complete collection, but it seems to be growing… good luck to them dealing with the update issues and number crunching. I am here to find artists I haven't heard before, track down elusive stuff I've been trying to find for years, and to research artists that have caught my ear.

Well, being a new user without the Profile Editor working pretty much sucks. How am I supposed to define any music preferences or… well, get anything at all done? Everybody's whining about the charts, but honestly, what's the point? I'm here to find new music and figure out a way to organize my tastes, not fool around with charts.
