It took a little more than five years, but I finally did it! I passed the magical 100,000 mark. That may sound like a lot, but it's only 54 songs per day.

Matt Rowe, music guru at MusicTap.net made a great post recently about the possible "death of rock" music. While I would certainly mourn the death of rock music, there is so much great music from the past 50 years that you could constantly discover new "old" music, and never tire of it.

Last night I saw Natasha Bedingfield perform at a festival here in Greenville. She opened for Huey Lewis & The News. She was added an opener several weeks after the Huey Lewis concert was announced, so this was most likely a one-time pairing. After her performance (which was great, BTW), her band came out and stood behind me near the mixing consoles. They were enjoying Huey's performance just like the rest of us. REO Speedwagon's 1982 album, Good Trouble came two years after the mega-selling Hi Infidelity. It may not have sold as well, but it should have. Good Trouble is every bit as good, if not better.

I came across The Joey Heatherton Album in the record store, and was intrigued by the nude cover. I went home and listened to the album to see what it sounded like, and thought it was very good. The original album was released in 1972, and this Limited Edition reissue includes eight singles released between 1964 and 1966, and three previously unreleased tracks. The disc comes in a nice digipak case, and included several great photos of Joey. There were only 5,000 copies printed, so if you find one, pick it up!

I picked up a 160GB Apple TV last month, and have been using it quite a bit to listen to music, as well as watch video podcasts, YouTube, etc.
