When i first grew tired of listening to the radio, 80's flash backs that i never had, and tasteless pop and Rap, i turned to French Pop.

I and my friend Damien became quite obsessed with it; first we listened to Past French Eurovision winners, Nolwenn Leroy[(who i still listen to today), Jonatan Cerradaand Natasha St Piere. We started ordering albums from amazon.fr and probably spent way too much, this was around the time i had landed my first job in Safeway (a chain of supermarkets) and had allot of money to burn, i spent in mostly on candles and green tea.

Then we Discovered Lorie, who was the emote of French Pop, she was so bright and happy and her songs were hypnotically senseless. Looking back she seems pretty silly and by no means great musically, but we had a lot of fun dancing in the living room to that.

I then discovered Bjork; she brought me into a whole new world of meaning, of deep hollow sounds and tiny beats with her album Vespertine. Damien didn't follow me out of the tunnel of French pop…

I acquired all of Bjork’s popular albums, as well and 3 of her sugar cube ones, i feel in love with her child like vocals and experimental sounds, the strings in Homogenic! Shortly after getting into Bjork i started talking to my cousin allot more, she was in love with Sound Garden and perfect circle. I didn't like them too much but they helped me into more heavy rock music i feel. I then became a big fan of electronic bands such as Lamb, and also American indie bands such as Shivaree. I discovered some great French artists such as Louise Attaque, Carla Bruni, Iris Project and Air who i still love today.

I bought Dark side of the moon a day before i went on exchange for a year to Denmark…
