A more appropriate 'About Me' there has not been. lol But I'll enquire after you anyway.

No need to apologize for going on holiday. I hope it was a good one. I should apologize for *not* going on holiday. It might improve my temperament. I'll have to check out the vid. [I was a bit repetitious, so I deleted the extraneous stuff] 8-D Cheers!

Yeah, I too just heard of him the other day, but I already love his music! ^^ I think they've got the album on both grooveshark.com and spotify! :D

Love your avatar. And you also have a nice custom selection of artists in your Library. Where does the photo in your "About Me" section come from? The actor looks familiar, but I can't place him. Cheers!

Sun Ra might indeed be a difficulut artist due to his huge catalogue. I guess it is a slow process of discovery and of one's own taste. I would say there are two approaches, either dive in head first into the chaos and start with albums like Space is the Place or Solar Myth approach 2, or start slowly with his more calm early and later work like Sound of Joy and Mayan Temples, or with Lanquidity. Good luck and fun!

Folk rock. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of it except that I enjoy the songs I grew up with. Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alabama, that sort of thing. I'm really enjoying the blues rock revival lately with bands like Rival Sons, who sound like Led Zeppelin reincarnated, and The Black Keys, along with Mute Math. Manchester Orchestra is pretty awesome as well. If you like folk though and some acoustic, I might recommend Daisy McCrackin in addition to the bands I mentioned before.

That was my first time hearing Grizzly Bear. Last.fm is great for new music in that way. It was early morning and I wanted "soothing" radio, so they came up. Normally I might listen to Band of Horses for something on the mellow side. You know who has a really nice sound though is Victoria Hume. Sort of folksy and poetic.

Ok, this is effectively just going to be a list, because I'm currently waiting for my bike to be delivered. =P Including the bands I mentioned previously, in terms of 'proper' prog rock and similar, I'm a fan of Yes, Captain Beefheart, King Crimson, Can, ELO and Alan Parson's Project. I'd also count some of Toto in there, too. Towards the more metal end of the spectrum I'm a huge fan of Tool and also like Queensryche, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, A Perfect Circle and Kyuss. I'm also a big fan of some of the classic progressive dance acts; I'd class groups like Portishead and Massive Attack here, and artists such as Robert Miles and 808 State. In terms of DJs I'm a fan of, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Sasha and Deadmau5 would all be on the list, and some of Moby and Prodigy's stuff would definitely be in there too (I'm a fan of both in general). Of that little lot, I think you might enjoy Kyuss the most if you've never listened before, they were Josh Homme's first band. There we go...phew! =D

You know, I keep coming back to this question and it stymies me each time. =P I guess part of the problem is, what do you classify as prog, apart from the obvious pioneers? I listen to a few artists that have progressive elements involved in the music, in many different genres...it sounds a bit like a cop-out but I promise that it isn't!
