1. How did you get into 29?
Iron And Wine - A friend of mine introduced me to his music by comparing him to Sufjan Stevens. Obviously, I was interested.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Arcade Fire - I think it was Rebellion (Lies), and it was playing in a snowboarding video my friend was showing me.
3. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Modest Mouse - 3 full albums, a bunch of random songs. The albums are Good News For People Who Love Bad News, The Moon in Antarctica, and We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.
4. What is your favorite song by 5?
Weezer- Oww, that's a tough one. Pretty much any song from The Blue Albumor Pinkerton would do, but off the top of my head I guess....
The Good Life? Like I said, almost any song off either album is capable of being my favorite.
5. What is your favorite song by 15?
Ben Folds - Another tough one. I guess I'll just go with my most played song by him for lack of a more discerning process of determining my favorite:
Jesusland. Like I said, it's tough. I have trouble thinking of a song of his that I don't like.
6. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
of Montreal - It's fucking of Montreal. All their songs are like ecstasy laced with caffeine.
Kid Without Claws springs to mind. It's just catchy.
7. What is your favorite song by 10?
Wolf Parade - Fancy Claps, but
Shine a Light and Soldier's Grin are very close behind.
8. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
R.E.M. - This band was playing all throughout my childhood, so any given song by them can usually bring back a sunny memory or two from when I was little.
9. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy?
Death From Above 1979 -
Blood On Our Hands (Justice Remix) gives me energy. Maybe it's the Justice touch, but this song just makes me wanna move around and start dancing.
10. How many times have you seen 23 live?
The Strokes - Never :(. I have seen Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, and The Roots live though!
11. What is the first song you ever heard by 26?
MGMT- Time to Pretend (radio edit). It was probably the best free download that iTunes has ever given out.
12. What is your favorite album by 11?
Radiohead - This is difficult, because they have so many good ones. In Rainbows is really, really good, but I'll give the nod to Kid A, just because it's probably the album of theirs that I've listened to the most. Figures that I would get one of the most consistently excellent bands in existence for this question.
13. Who is a favorite member of 1?
Sufjan Stevens- Call me crazy, but I'm gonna have to go with the big Suf himself on this one. Don't get me wrong though, he has some very, VERY talented musicians working with him.
14. Have you ever seen 14 live?
Bob Dylan - Actually, yes! He was touring with Elvis Costello and Amos Lee. Easily the biggest concert I've ever been to, and arguably the best. I suspect that there's no comparable experience with any other artist out there.
15. What is a good memory involving 27?
I have two 27s. For Aqueduct, I'd have to say that my favorite memory is driving around with Living a Lie on repeat with Chris around Halloween of last year. That, and I think there was an Aqueductsong or two on his mixtape for our ride to Vermont last summer for the Any Means premiere. For Belle and Sebastian... I'd have to say listening to We Are the Sleepyheads in St. Thomas just before I came home last spring break. Perfectly wrapped up a good vacation and got me ready to come home to snowy New York. :D
16. What is your favorite song by 16?
Devendra Banhart - Probably Electric Heart, but it's hard to find a song of his that's not catchy as hell.
17. What is your favorite album by 18?
Vampire Weekend - Their only full album is Vampire Weekend, so looks like I don't have a choice. Great first album though, so there's no pain in that.
18. What is your favorite song by 21?
Deer Tick - Baltimore Blues No. 1, but Art Isn't Real (City Of Sin) is worth a mention too.
19. What is the first song you ever heard by 25?
Gogol Bordello - I want to say that it was
Start Wearing Purple, but the truth is I don't really remember. A friend of mine was playing the Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike in photo class and I can't remember when exactly I came out of the dark room and first heard them... I think after hearing that first song, though, I sat down and listened to the album in its entirety. Mr. Reynolds understood.
20. What is your favorite album by 2?
The Go! Team - Oh wow, that's really tough. A few months ago I would have said their first album, no question, but Proof Of Youth has grown on me. Still, though, I think Fire, Lighting, Strike! has more jaw-dropping, adrenaline-pumping songs on it, so I'll give that one the nod. But only slightly.
21. What is you favorite song by 3?
The Roots - As much as I hate to be a tool and pick their single, I have to give Rising Down (Feat. Mos Def and Styles P) some love. They have a lot of really incredible songs, no doubt about it, but this is the song that defines them to me.
22. What is you favorite song by 8?
Kings of Leon - For a long time I would have said The Bucket, and a long time after that I would have said
Knocked Up, but at this point in time I have to go with
King Of The Rodeo. A couple of songs on that new album are creeping up on that one, though, like
Sex On Fire and
Use Somebody. Speaking of the latter two, I watched SNL when the King performed them live, and I gotta say; the Kings are incredible live.
23. How many times have you seen 17 live?
Ratatat - I haven't, but I would do disgusting, abhorrent things to see them live.
24. What is the worst song by 12?
Architecture in Helsinki- Their songs are hit or miss for me. The vast majority are 'hits' but a few songs on Places Like this are pretty crappy, actually.
Lazy (Lazy) springs to mind.
25. What was the first song you ever heard by 28?
I don't have a 28; but I have two tied for 27. For Aqueduct, it was probably The Suggestion Box, and for Belle and Sebastian I'm almost positive that it was Get Me Away from Here, I'm Dying.
26. What is you favorite album by 7?
Two Gallants - Sadly, I don't own a full album of theirs, yet, but the albums I have the most songs downloaded off of (and thus, my favorites), are a tie between The Throes and Two Gallants. Between the songs I have from the two, I'd have to pick The Throes.
27. What is your favorite song by 24?
The Shins - They'll Soon Discover. The fact that it was written for the Spongebob movie just pushes it over the top.
28. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - All of them do, to a varying degree, but especially
The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth. I was thinking about getting the lyrics tattooed on my body somewhere. Tattoo love is the purest demonstration of love there is, after all.
29. What is your favorite album by 4?
Beck- If Sea Change wasn't already my favorite album of all time, I'd have to pick Modern Guilt.
30. How many albums do you own by 20?
Sublime - Just one: the eponymous Sublime.
Iron And Wine - A friend of mine introduced me to his music by comparing him to Sufjan Stevens. Obviously, I was interested.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
