I got revenege

Thu 24 Sep – She Wants Revenge

i hesitated when i saw SWR were coming back around. why? redundancy.
while this is forever had it's moments and garners a 3.75 (out of 5 stars) rating from me, it seemed too more of the same.
the new EPs make sense to me now. with Save your soul being emo and up and down being dance. my buddy referred to the latter as sounding very Prince and funky.

recorded material aside, live, Justin and Adam have never been so vocal and engaging. the mood and drama were evident in the earlier shows. this was fun and touching. Justin was light and laughing. he stopped the set to observe a fight in the crowd, commenting, "the KMFDM show is at the TLA". Haha!

Adam, decked out in a DJ AM shirt, AM's name on his guitar and keyboard, was very emotional and addressed the crowd that it was hard to play here (as Goldstein's from Philly) and dedicated the show to him.

i laugh when artists with small catalogs ask if it's ok that they play new material. ummmm, i've see you guys like 6 times before. i really don't need to hear tear you apart again anytime soon.

all in all, a good show. worth the trip. wished more folks came out, but it goes to show you what touring behind something people know does to boost ticket sales.

highlight: Written in blood when two girls made Justin laugh. he commented that no one had performed a dance routine to that song before and he totally thought what they did should have been the video. when asked by the crowd "what did they do?" he answered dryly "that's for me to know and you to find out".
