Huh. All that Galneryus stuff is fascinating - especially that you've contacted Yama-B! I ought to download their older stuff some time. Yeah, any time I hear people talk about Capsule they're usually yearning for the style of their older work - which I get, it's pretty dope - but even CAPS LOCK is really good. You can't expect a producer to repeat work, which is why it's so fun to listen to all their varied albums. As far as my favorite The Cure albums go, I'd rank Pornography 1st, Disintegration 2nd, Seventeen Seconds 3rd. I also really like Head On The Door... Which is not to say I have a cement opinion on them, but that's my current thoughts. I'm casually watching Initial D lately, that show is super ridiculous but oddly charming. Dunno if you like eurobeat or not hahah.

Thanks, Jimmy. You're a total swagman yourself. We seriously have too much in common. Truth be told, seeing your Capsule plays got me into them. I always wanted to check them out, because I've been listening to Perfume for a few years now. Also from a seasoned Galneryus fan, can you give me your opinion on the different vocalists? I've only listened to their stuff with Sho, because I got into them after hearing their EDs on Hunter x Hunter and Rainbow.

Yeah sorry it took me so long to get back but yeah, I haven't got the newest Turisas album yet, but i haven't personally looked into it either, so I have no idea what it might be like.

YEAH! COLD BEAT. Sometimes I really think Mukai is some musical madman with his jumbled mathy compositions on some of the later releases.

I wholeheartedly concur about An Autumn...and it's thanks to you that I checked them out. I've been listening to last.fm Radio more often and I noticed that out of all my friends, your library has the most intriguing artists--so I've been listening to your library exclusively these days. If you notice large stretches in my timeline of nothing but bands you like, those are the times I'm listening to your stuff--it's all on you! *lols*

Hello hullo, Happy New Year! You haven't heard from me in a long time...sorry about that! *bows* I know you missed Crossfaith the last time around but don't worry--they love to tour and they'll be back in America before you know it. Thanks for the MtH link! I've always liked their stuff and have been listening to a lot more punk, metal, and anything ending in "-core" lately. Btw, have you ever heard of Matenrou Opera (摩天楼オペラ)? They're this perfect blend of metal and visual kei; their concerts always sell out quickly. This was their major debut single, can you believe it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72RbMHylx2M And I wanted to ask you...HOW WAS DIR EN GREY?

Sorry to talk so long about myself, though! About Kaya's solo work... if you're up for something VERY different than Schwarz Stein, but with the same sort of sad, vaguely-erotic flavor, you might find yourself liking it, but on the listening surface a huge amount of his releases thus far are very 'fluffy' and pretty... Still, he harnesses a lot of the same intensity of SS in his music, even if it does seem (and it only seems, in a lot of the songs' cases) cheerier and less depthful. Try listening to his singles to get a good impression of what he does now. Chocolat, and his Bonour! Chanson mini-album are great examples of his cheery side he explores & then try out Ophelia & Awilda (Awilda - both the A & B side - is my personal favorite single of his) to get a really intense dose of his tragic, powerful sides. He is exquisitely emotional in his solo work as much as his SS work - Kaya surprised me very much. I hope you like him!

because Malice Mizer too had a very strong, poetic vision & really imbued in me the idea that good literary concepts very often make good music. I got out of the scene in my mid-teens to explore more western music & go down the very tragic road that is industrial & things of that darker nature (though I was also into shibuya kei pretty hard at that time too, in hilarious contrast), but slowly started reexploring the scene around the end of high school. In summer of last year, I discovered a band called Velvet Eden which just BLEW MY MIND and taught me that there is SO MUCH MORE to vkei than the Malice Mizer Alumni & midi-nette-type projects, and fully got me passionately back into it. Velvet Eden really tickles me, because for the longest time I thought the only darkwave-like Vkei act was Schwarz Stein - and Velvet Eden, I'm finding, is just one of many very fascinating electronic groups in the scene. I highly recommend them to you as an SS fan!

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I was having a totally BOGUS couple of days and just wanted to sleep 5ever. I'm curious... progressive is a pretty flexible phrase to apply to music, in my opinion. What exactly does it mean to you? Obviously you could define it using preexisting opinions, but I'm curious how you'd define it personally. Your experience in getting into the scene is very unique of mine! It's interesting that it helped you to develop your already existing listening focus - for me, it was the absolute starting point. I got into Vkei when I was 11 years old, and it really dictated what I'd search for from then on out. I was attracted to it for its opulence in its sound and concept, and I constantly seek similar things... for example, I accredit my interest in the band Army of Lovers as a direct result of being introduced to Malice Mizer,

Loving your charts too. :] I used to have an account on this site many years ago... our compatibility would have been !TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! then. Seeing Between the Buried and Me & Capsule is bringing back some MAJOR memories. How long have you been into visual kei? Schwarz Stein is one of my 'forever bands'; I love their dark world. I've just gotten back into the scene this year...
