The groups on this site are completely dead, at least the ones I'm members of. The Tool group, for instance, with 11,000 members, only has had a handful of posts within the last month. It seems unfortunate. I remember the groups being more active when I first joined this site, and you'd think that time=more people=more popularity=more posts, right? Right? Right???

I need to look for some shows soon. I haven't been to any in a while. Perhaps that's a frequent theme of this journal, but it's a sad reality, I suppose. The unfortunate event is that school starts again in a few days. Maybe I should've taken the opportunity of winter break, but I guess that's the procrastinator in me. I'm pretty sure Evanescense is playing in Little Rock soon, but I missed the boat on that one. Long time, no post. It feels like it has been ages since I used this site – and rightfully so, as it has been a couple of years since I posted a "journal." Glad the site is still around though. Wish I had the opportunity to use it more than I get around to.

A few shows coming up soon that I wanted to see in Little Rock. Hope against hope that I get to see them all! … Carbon Leaf, Evans Blue, Devildriver. I missed the opportunity to see Evans Blue at Edgefest a few years…

Going to see The A.K.A.s Feb. 15th. Will be my 3rd time seeing them. The last 2 times were a few years ago at a now defunct venue, but the energy was amazing and I had a great time. I haven't seen them since they've released their latest album, so I'm hoping to be surprised.

So, uh, evidently I've listened to a lot of Avril Lavigne. I think it's the most-played artist on my playlist. I think I was kind of into that angsty teen thing about a year ago–still, relatively far past my teens–which is probably the cause of it. Apparently I listened to so much in that period that it's overtaken the rest of my audio according to Last.fm. Well, I listen to her still occasionally but it's a bit rare now.

I have seen a few shows since last update. Not a lot for most people, but a lot compared to me recently, since I have no local venue available. Believe me, it sucks, I know.

Saw Locksley, The Bridges, and Rooney at Juanita's.
Saw Paperoute, Phantom Planet, Jack's Mannequin, and Paramore at Riverfest Ampitheatre.
Saw Box Wine, Bear Colony, and Plain White T's at The Village.

That's pretty much it. Kind of sad that I have to make it an "event" to go to a show. :(

Well, it's beeen a long time since I've updated this thing… Unfortunately, since the last show I posted about on here, I've only seen Tool live. Now while that was an experience I'll never forget, it just goes to show the lack of shows that I've been able to see recently. I really need to stop being lazy and go plan or something, because I'm getting kinda nostalgic for when I was able to see live music on a semi-regular basis, or at least they weren't like 6 months to a year apart.

Thu 1 Mar – Finger Eleven, Hinder, Black Stone Cherry

All three bands (Black Stone Cherry, Finger Eleven, Hinder) put on good shows. Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time somewhere in the summer of 2003, a friend and I went to see a show at the Mud Island Ampitheatre in Memphis, TN. It was that summer jam thing they had going on, where there were 4 or so pretty decent bands playing each Saturday for a like $3 or so. It was a great deal, actually. I'll probably be going to the Hinder show on March 1st in Little Rock. Finger Eleven and Black Stone Cherry will be opening for them so it should be pretty fun. Not the biggest Hinder fan ever, but they're good enough to see live, since they have good opening bands.
