Here is the information that I found on the Internet regarding the Outpouring before I left school this spring. I will also include my reactions, which I posted in MySpace groups, at that time.

Scripture also speaks of another angel that releases finances. I understand that God will supply all my need according to His riches in glory (Phil. 4:19). Do you know what that means? There are riches in glory because the earth is the Lord's and everything in it. He is the God who supplies our needs according to His riches in glory. The bible even tells us that the silver and gold are His. So when I need a financial breakthrough I don't just pray and ask God for my financial breakthrough. I go into intercession and become a partner with the angels by petitioning the Father for the angels that are assigned to getting me money: "Father, give me the angels in heaven right now that are assigned to get me money and wealth. And let those angels be released on my behalf. Let them go into the four corners of the earth and gather me money. Let them gather my partners." You know why it's important to pray like this? Because the Devil wants to cut off your cash flow. He wants to hinder and block your finances. He wants to do whatever he can to hinder you from receiving the blessing and provision that God has for you. Sometimes praying about it isn't good enough because you need to prevail in heaven where the angels and demons are actually fighting. We want to push back the demonic forces, so sometimes we need to say, "Father, let those legions of angels assigned to release financial breakthrough, come into the earth right now and loose the Devil from the money assigned to me. I call in that money in the name of Jesus." Sometimes when I pray this way, bam! … I've got the money I need within a few days. Yes, I get financial breakthrough because God is my source. If man doesn't have it for me, God does. Yet the Devil is trying to keep it from getting to me. Even though God heard me on the first day, the Devil wants to delay it 21 days or as long as he can. But I've got to get the angels involved with my incense and say, "C'mon God, let those angels come and help fulfill your word—you promised me the blessing of the Lord that makes one rich and You add no sorrow with it.

Prosperity gospel :(

let's see….preaching on money….this is not a biblical way of talking about money. If you want a good sermon on finaces, go look up John Wesley's sermon.

What Bentley is preaching here is all selfish…..and it is the prosperity gospel….a false teaching that is corrupting many churches. Bentley is overemphasizing angels. Look how many times he said "angels" here. Look at the role that he assigns them.

What? Satan wants to block people's finances!!! ???? In other words, people have a "right" to be prosperous, and if you're not, then you have to pray against the block……..sorry that's not what the Bible says, and it's not God's teaching. Todd Bentley's doctrine is not from the Holy Spirit.

The only way to "push back the demonic forces" is to preach the real gospel….to make much of Jesus Christ and to glorify Him. Serve other people….share God's love with them.

This little exerpt from his sermon also shows that he has a wrong emphasis on spiritual warfare…..

This teaching IS NOT FROM GOD.

ANGEL OF THE PROPHETIC

Now let me talk about an angelic experience. Twice Bob Jones asked me if I had seen a particular angel that was in Kansas City in 1980. He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. He told me that this angel helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980's as well as helping to nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about this angel, I was in a service in Buelah, North Dakota . In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks an angel. As I stared at this angel, I sensed the Lord saying that this was the angel that Bob Jones was speaking about. This angel appeared to be floating a couple of inches off the floor emitting brilliant light and colors. The angel began walking up and down the aisles of the church putting gold dust on people. "God, what is happening?" I asked. The Lord answered: "This angel is releasing the gold, which is both the revelation and the financial breakthrough that I am bringing into this church. I want you to prophecy that the angel's appearance is a sign that I am endorsing and releasing a prophetic spirit in the church." �See, when angels come, they always come for a reason; we need to actually ask God what the purpose is. Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands! Even though the entire community consisted of only three thousand people, weeks after I left the church the pastor testified that the church offerings had either doubled or tripled. During this visitation the pastor's wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost— she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers of complete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and prophesying over them. She would tell them that God gave her their telephone number and then would give them words of knowledge. Complete strangers. Then angels started showing up in the church. I believe this angel released a financial and prophetic anointing in that place. The people in the church began having trances and visions and the pastor began getting words of knowledge and moving in healing. That congregation also saw more financial breakthrough than they had ever seen before.

if this "angel" is responsible for Kansas City Prophets….then it is most definitely a demon.

Again…where is the cross? Where is Jesus Christ in this?

This is just more of the money and angelic idolotry.

Gold dust? Come on……

BENTLEY IS NOT PREACHING THE GOSPEL.

Barking like a dog? Squaking like a chicken? What the heck? Yeah….that REALLY sounds like the Holy Spirit. (sarcastically). Once again, this "spirit" (who is not the Holy Spirit) is leading people to miracles….not point to Jesus Christ and the gospel.

Trances??? God doesn't put people into trances.

Money, money, and more money seems to be the focus of Bentley….that and miracles and angels :(

The apostle Paul told the Colossians,

{18}Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. {19} He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

Nevertheless, prominent figures in the controversial renewal and revival movements frequently refer to angel sightings and to messages they allegedly receive from angels.

Hence it does not come as a surprise that — in relation to the so-called ‘revival’ at Lakeland, Florida — former Kansas City ‘prophet’ Bob Jones talks about angels, reportedly saying that an angel named ‘Winds of Change’ is bringing, well, change.

In fact, according to a ‘ministry report’ at The ElijahList — which shares alleged “prophetic words and prophecies”:

The “winds of change” angel appeared to Todd Bentley in Florida, and simultaneously to Bob Jones.

Todd Bentley called Bob Jones an elder prophet and talked with him for about an hour about the “Florida outpouring” here in Lakeland.

Here are notes about their phone conversation:

On New Year’s Eve, for 2008, God told Bob Jones that “the third wave was coming.” Todd asked Bob what the third wave was. He said that Toronto was wave 1, Pensacola was wave 2, and the third wave is the “Winds of Change”–this move of God.

This move will be a global move, traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!

As a sign that this wave would be released from the Northwest, Bob shared that God said in the natural world, there would be extreme “winds and storms” out of Canada and the Northwest this year. (We had these storms in the Northwest this past winter and winds even now!) These natural winds would be followed by the winds of change. There would then be a move of the Holy Ghost, where entire towns would be shut down by the power of the Spirit. Revival will come as a Northwest wind.

It was also mentioned to “set up your sail”–the “Winds of Change” are blowing!

The “Winds of Change” angel was mentioned in an article — by Bob Jones and Keith Davis — that appeared on Bob Jones’ website, and was archived in July, 2000 by the Internet Archive.

The conference mentioned took place May 19-21 of that year:

In a visitation prior to this conference, a huge angel appeared to Bob stating his name - “Winds of Change”. This angelic being was accompanied with three other angels, we believe representing three churches and their leadership the Lord is desiring to join together in the bond of unity. This huge messenger stipulated he has now been released to bring the “winds of change” to the church aiding us in the transition imminently ahead. These winds will fill the sail of the church to transport her on this virtuous journey. Things are not going to continue as they have in the past within the church and the manner in which she is viewed.

The angel was mentioned in a December, 2000, message by Rick Joyner:

A prophetic friend, Bob Jones, was recently visited by an angel who was one of the largest he had ever seen. This angel said that his name was “The Winds of Change, ” and that great changes were coming to the church. He said that until now we have known mostly the winds of adversity, but the winds of change that were coming would “fill our sails” as the church is about to move forward again.

‘Healing Mantles’
One minister who has confronted Bentley regarding his teachings on angels has published a 2003 letter on the subject online.

Addressing Bentley, he says in part:

I have seen your video, ‘ Healing and Revival Mantles’.

There are a couple of issues there I would also challenge.

(i).

“ Angels are waiting to bestow healing mantles to believers “

Really ? Which scripture supports this strange notion?

Read the Word carefully – there are none!

Are you claiming new revelation ?

New doctrine cannot be justified by someone’s dreams or visions, whether it is Bob Jones or anyone else.

The only angels that I know of that are waiting to bestow ‘healing mantles’ to humans are the demonic spirits who deceive ‘healing’ mediums and spiritists.

These people can ‘heal’ too you know !

Come on Todd, you surely know that it is the Holy Spirit and Him alone, that bestows healing mantles and anointings to believers ! What you are teaching is a different Gospel !

(ii) You are even in error when you link the events at the pool of Bethsaida with the signs and wonders in Acts that were done through the hands of the Apostles in Solomon’s Porch. Solomon’s Porch was on the eastern part of the Temple until 70 AD, when the Temple was destroyed. The site of the pool at Bethsaida in Jerusalem, is north of the Temple Mount. The five porticos or porches mentioned in John 5:1-9, were part of a completely different building.

William Branham
In an early report about the Lakeland, Florida, meetings, Bentley was asked to describe the angel he claims to have seen:

I spoke with Bentley over the telephone about the meetings and asked him how it was that the initial conference at Ignited Church, scheduled to last only five days, has now turned into extended meetings. Todd replied that weeks ago, while he was doing some healing meetings in Australia, a man from New Zealand called him saying he had “seen” the tent peg of the Lord’s being driven into the soil of Florida and that somehow he felt God was going to use Todd to facilitate that.

Bentley remembered the man’s word, but didn’t think anything of it until the second night of the Lakeland meetings when he said he saw an angel he described as carrying the “Winds of Change.

”

Asking him to describe this angel, Bentley replied that those familiar with the life of William Branham would recognize the angel from being a relevant factor in his healing ministry. He felt that this angel’s appearance signaled a “shift in the atmosphere” for the meetings and felt that an openness for revival had been ushered in.

Those familiar the life of William Branham know that he was a heretic who denied the doctrine of the Trinity.

Branham also taught that the Word of God was given in three forms: the zodiac, the Egyptian pyramids, and the written scripture.

Branham’s popularity was due mainly to his ability to discern people’s illnesses. Also, many healings took place at his meetings, but not as many as were claimed.

While Branham’s services were powerful - “…a legend unparalled in the history of the charismatic movement” - some question the source of his healing power:

Years ago (William Branham) told his interpreter, Pastor Ruff, “If my angel does not give the sign, I cannot heal.” Ruff noticed several features of spiritism in the work of Branham, and therefore stopped working with him. These “angels” of whom (Harry) Edwards and Branham spoke are evil spirits masquerading as angels of light. As in many areas of the occult, we are here reminded again that the devil appears as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14) Another evidence is the fact that neither Edwards nor Branham were able to perform cures when faced with born-again Christians who had committed themselves to the protection of Christ. In the case of Branham, I have experienced this myself. When he spoke in Karlsruhe and Lausanne, there were several believers among the audience — including myself — who prayed along these lines: “Lord, if this man’s powers are from You, then bless and use him, but if the healing gifts are not from You, then hinder him.” The result? On both occasions Branham said from the platform, “There are disturbing powers here. I can do nothing.

THE LAKELAND REVIVAL IN FLORIDA - IS IT OF GOD?

IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THAT EVERY HEALING, MIRACLE AND REVIVAL IS FROM GOD?

Some cautionary warnings from the Bible:

(Jesus) "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect - if that were possible. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time." - Mark Chapter 13 verses 22-23

(Jesus) "Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles. Then I will tell them plainly, "I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers." - Matthew Chapter 7 verses 21 to 23.

As we have seen, Jesus himself warned us that there would be counterfeits in the last days. Even to the extent that some people may even do miracles and cast out demons, yet Jesus will one day say to some of these workers of wonders: "Away from me, I never knew you". He even calls them "evildoers".

2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 9 to 12 says this: "The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness."

Paul’s First Letter to Timothy, Chapter 4 verse 1 warns: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons."

Every Christian therefore needs to on their guard - to love the truth and avoid deception.

Based on what Jesus himself said, we can expect to see the deception in the guise of "true Christian works" and what appear to be genuine miracles and healings. Why? Well, if Satan came to us looking like his true self, none of us would ever fall for it. For example, who has ever counterfeited a £9 note? No-one! For precisely the reason that a counterfeit needs to look like the real thing. Consequently he will, as the Bible says, "come as an angel of light" to avoid detection. Remember, the Bible warns us that Satan is a liar, a deceiver and a murderer.

Even .. inspection it may look like the real thing. Bear in mind that when Moses went to Pharaoh on God’s behalf and did miracles before Pharaoh, many of God’s miracles performed by Moses were also duplicated by Pharaoh’s own spiritual leaders. Satan has no difficulty in doing miraculous works, healings and even calling down fire from the sky.

However, it may be that the healings that appear to be taking place are ocurring by genuine Holy Spirit power. Some have reported that Todd Bentley did receive from God a genuine gift of healing some years ago. The Bible does make clear, however, that "the gifts and calling of God are without repentance" (Romans Chapter 11 verse 29). This is usually interpreted as meaning that, if God gives you a spiritual gift, he does not normally remove it from you at a later date. The ongoing presence of the gift in someone’s life, therefore, does not mean that all aspects of that person’s life and ministry are beyond reproach.

I recently recorded almost 3 hours of Lakeland broadcast on the God TV channel. The most frequently used words by Todd Bentley during that time were:

FIRE
ANOINTING
IMPARTATION
MIRACLES
HEALING

During the 3 hour period he never opened a Bible, preached or mentioned any scripures whatsoever. The words HOLINESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, REPENTANCE, OBEDIENCE were never mentioned at any time during the broadcast At no time was any caution given about the importance of BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS, with a view to avoidance of deception.

Towards the latter part of the evening he mentioned SALVATION and invited non-Christians up to the platform "to receive Jesus". He said: "you need to be born again. I’m going to pray for you to be saved. If you want Jesus, ask "come into my heart and forgive me my sins". I’m not going to preach for 45 minutes for you to be saved. I’m going to pray for you to receive Jesus. He then prayed for, and laid hands on, each person who had come forward. All fell to the floor.

He never gave any of these unbelievers a chance to pray themselves. He never explained who Jesus was, or what he had done on the cross. He never explained what sin was, nor God’s view of sin. Repentance and its meaning was never mentioned. The whole section devoted to the lost lasted no more than 5 or 6 minutes, then he reverted to talking about "the anointing", "impartation" and "miracles of healing". CONCLUSION: At no point was the true, Biblical Gospel ever preached (See What Is The Gospel? for an explanation of the true Biblical Gospel).

One other very worrying statement I heard him make that evening was this: "I used to feel the anointing in my hand; now I feel it in my spine." His mention of the spine rang bells in my memory, so I did a search on Google and found that the KUNDALINI (demonic) snake/serpent spirit is acknowledged by KUNDALINI devotees as taking up residence in the spine. For a detailed comparison between KUNDALINI and LAKELAND read this page. Given that the main emphasis of Todd’s ministry at Lakeland is the impartation of "the fire" to other countries, churches and ministries around the world, makes this "impartation" aspect one of great concern, lest another spirit is involved.

Todd Bentley has declared that his Florida anointing is the most "contagious" that he has ever imparted to people. (In other words, the most easily transferable). And indeed this seems to be the case. It is spreading rapidly throughout the world.

But what exactly is this anointing? One observer of the Florida revival notes: "Todd Bentley constantly manifests his "anointing" by shaking his head back and forth, and by his body physically shaking. These manifestations also happen frequently in those who he imparts to. He will even wave his arms over the audience, shouting, "Fire! Fire! Fire!" and then people in the audience will start manifesting. Some appear to be convulsing, and some even as if they are being thrashed by a spirit."

In a CBN News interview, Todd stated: "Our focus here in Florida every night is I lay hands on every single person who comes - whether it’s 5, 000, 10, 000 - And I’m praying every night, ’God, give it away, give it away, give it away.’ And that’s the focus here: Impartation."

And indeed there are more and more reports of this anointing being transmitted from Florida to other states and nations across the globe.

As we have already seen, a report from England tells of a preacher who brought Todd’s anointing back from Florida and now it is manifesting in his UK meetings: "Fire, a burning sensation, was felt all over people’s bodies… There were outbursts of joy, drunken- ness and spontaneous healings throughout the meeting."

A man from Clearwater, Florida says that a number of people from his fellowship have attended the revival and then brought the ’anointing’ back with them. Here is what he personally saw:

"These are the effects that I have witnessed on people who have attended this movement and either have had hands laid on them or claim to have been imparted with "the spirit":

-They come back with this kind of childlike drunken stupor. -Descriptions of a burning sensation either in their veins, heads or stomachs.
-Descriptions of being washed back and forth like the waves in the ocean;
-Dancing about like drunk…
-Inappropriate yelling and screaming like they’re at a football game;
-Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and
claiming that they "feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two";
-One young man’s back two teeth turned completely to some
metallic finish.
-People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving
around like they’re lost.
-Women just gyrating and pulsating like they’re being ravaged from
behind from some unseen force.
-Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time.
-People being "slain in the spirit"… just falling down and being
unable to move (like something’s holding them down)…"

Another eyewitness from the USA writes:

"A friend of mine invited me to a church where the ministry team brought back a "Fire" from the Lakeland revival. The pastor’s wife was moderating, but she could not complete her sentences because she was ’drunk in the Spirit.’ She imitated the type of sounds I read in your blog. I saw people breaking out into uncontrollable laughter. I came with my Bible to receive a word. There was no teaching or preaching. Just testimonies. They talked about their experience in Lakeland… Where was the word? I did not find any. I also heard a sound BAM and then I saw someone being slain in the spirit."

A Spirit-filled pastor that I know from the UK who has been following Todd Bentley’s ministry closely for some years wrote to me about what he himself has observed since the year 2000:

"My difficulty with Todd Bentley’s ministry is not whether he has recently covered himself with tattoos or pierced himself silly, but the SOURCE of his power. He keeps changing his position on this. Sometimes he says it’s the Holy Spirit and a lot of the time it’s his angels.

"Many have said that they believe that Florida is a ’mixture’. Personally, I do not believe ’mixture’ is involved. I believe these deceiving spirits have hi-jacked Todd’s ministry. Either the healings are of God or they are not. Which is it?

"People can be healed in spiritualist churches. I have witnessed, close-up, first hand, people being instantly healed by mediums and faith healers. I have also seen people healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. To begin with there is no discernible difference. However the counterfeit healings soon begin to either go wrong or something far worse comes upon the person.

"When God heals someone - He adds ’no sorrow.’

"I know Todd started off OK - I was there in his early meetings. In September 2000 I stood in front of Todd and gave him the warning that God gave me for him. "Beware, the leaven of the Pharisees, lest an angelic leaven enters your ministry."

"One month later, according to Todd’s own account, at a meeting in Grants Pass Oregon, Cal Pierce walked in with Branham’s ’Healing Revival’ angel in tow, Todd saw and accepted this spirit without reservation. His ’angels’ have been with him ever since.

"I have written to Todd on numerous occasions and reminded him of God’s warning, alas to no avail.

"When Todd Bentley conducted a healing meeting in a large charismatic church here in England in 2005, he laid hands on many people who were apparently healed. I know of at least one instance where a pastor’s wife with cancer was prayed for by Todd. Soon afterwards she heard voices in her head telling her to ’drown herself just like her father did’. The poor woman ended up in a mental hospital, I believe she still has the cancer.

"No-one is following up or keeping records of what happens to people who have hands laid on them by Todd or others like him.

"I have kept records as far as I can, concerning this particular church. Over a relatively short period, there has been a dramatic increase in premature deaths, cancers, marriage break-ups, sickness and disease amongst the congregation where the leadership have allowed this type of ministry into their church. Many people left the church in fear.

"These are the consequences of following this type of ’ministry’ which no-one is either aware of, or wants to address. I know, I have visited the people in hospital and attended one of the funerals."

Meanwhile we find a number of prominent leaders beginning to declare that this will be one of the greatest revival movements in history. Some even see it as the beginning of a "new awakening".

Bob Jones declared that "This move will be a global move, traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!"

As this ’anointing’ spreads worldwide, I believe there are some serious questions that we need to ask ourselves:

Isn’t it possible, with all the dubious ’anointings’ and angels and manifestations associated with Bentley’s ministry, that what we are really seeing is a giant ’counterfeit’ revival? Isn’t it possible that if it continues to grow at the present rate, that it may literally become one of the great "delusions" of the Last Days - a great deception that has the power to actually deceive, if possible, the very elect?

These are very serious questions - but I believe they must be asked - because this ’anointing’ is already beginning to circle the globe (all of the stuff in post 4 were taken off the website above)
