Lol @' the hipsters rant, meanwhile all the people who see this tag and write nothing are quietly building the top artists, don't you realize how music works yet? More listens equals more importance/relevance, more profitable, bigger fanbase, the underground or "so called " pxhc of the 80's is 35 years old and thats really forgotten dusty trash , a band like fugazi and alexisonfire and refuse on the top is what trolls are repeating just to force it down everyones throat that the genre has a history that is generally out of date, out of touch and irrelevant in the modern day, the bands that break up and/or retire are not worth mentioning anymore, get off your high horse because no one is listening, the history of music is like a fart in the wind, when i come to play guitar i go by what sounds good to me which is like Asking Alexandria (first album) Confide, ETF, falling in reverse, the animal in me, they are bands that shaped my taste, stop with overbearing opinions

@MoogInRow You said, you can include the old prog and the new prog in the same family, but both have different names and sounds, prog rock didn't evolve and stay as the same genre. The same with post-hardcore, you can say than bands than evolved are of a post-hardcore subgenre, but NOT post-hardcore, just because genres don't evolve and stay as the same original genre.

@AloPunk not always true, some genres are more broad than others, take a look at Progressive Rock, it sounded quite different when it first came out. old school Prog Rock bands like King Crimson and Pink Floyd sound almost nothing like Tides of Man and The Mars Volta but yet theyre all put on the same boat. certain genres have more wiggle room and i see no reason why Alexisonfire, Thrice and Fugazi cant all be a part of the same genre, though Asking Alexandria are Metalcore and A Day To Remember are Pop Punk with Metalcore influences so i have no idea why theyre still on here

just like most genres the labels get all screwed up because of little 13 year olds who think asking alexandria is post-hardcore. this genre is probably the worst i've seen though. horribly misunderstood. how is it that people think that enter shikari, at the drive-in and asking alexandria sound like the same kind of music is beyond me. only one of those bands is post-hardcore by the way.

@MoogInRow a genre can't evolve, just because if that happens it's a new subgenre. But most of popular bands of this tag aren't even an evolution, their just aren't related to post-hardcore

@Sanity_Theorist as Post-Hardcore evolved through the years it got more and more melodic sounding and less raw sounding, compare the likes of Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Moss Icon, Quicksan, Jawbox and Unwound to the likes of Thrice, Blindside, Thursday, Glassjaw, Finch, Saosin (with Anthony Green) and Alexisonfire to the likes of A Day to Remember, Saosin (with Cove Reber), Sleeping With Sirens, Falling In Reverse Black Veil Brides and Escape the Fate. basically Post-Hardcore started to slowly evolve into a more melodic and poppy genre, still theres a few good bands to come from the modern Post-Hardcore scene like Dance Gavin Dance, letlive and Hail the Sun

It's sad see how this tag is used in shitty pop bands. Where the fuck are The Nation of Ulysses, Drive Like Jehu? And why asking alexandria next to fugazi and at the drive-in [4]????

So what the fuck happened to this genre? It went from Thrice and Blindside to A Day to remember type bands...just how does that happen!?

It's okay fellow true post-hardcore heads, the people that listen to asking alexandria, bmth and blessthefall can't possibly be over 16. they still have time to learn... right?

imo the best era of Post-Hardcore was around the late 90s-2005 with bands like Thrice, Thursday, FATA, Glassjaw, Finch, Alexisonfire etc. i do enjoy the original first-era Post-Hardcore bands and a few of the more modern ones, but just not as much

Don't Wanna Sound like a Jerk, but, the late 80's and 90's bands sound so much better, all that Alternative Metal/Post-Hardcore Bands like Helmet, Fugazi, Mark Of Cain, Refused and At The Drive-In, actual bands are kind of 'meh..." for me, some of they sound really good, but some others just look like generic drugs

not exactly the newest bands out there but the closest i can think of to those bands are The Blood Brothers, Fear Before the March of Flames, Glassjaw and Showbread

v I like how people only ever make fat jokes about people who are actually fat. Where's the unpredictability in that? If you aren't fat, then you're in no place to comment on it. You have to live the lifestyle to know what you're talking about. Weirdo.

Funny that people like MattZ00kie and Bobesity are whining like a child who can't their own way by wanting a chocolate bar on the shelf but can't afford it, suck it up, time to move on. No one is caring, listening or thinking a dam about poor tragic sound such as Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Hüsker Du.. but At The Drive In are pretty decent tho.

"This tag is damn near bloody useless, I'm trying to find more bands like Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Hüsker Du and At The Drive in. Not fucking Asking Alexandria and Enter Shikari" Well there's your problem. ATDI is one of my favorite bands, but everyone else in that first batch sounds dated and lifeless, even though I acknowledge their importance and influence. and AA is fucking horrible. Don't associate them with a great band like Enter Shikari. ES has a lot more in common with a band like ATDI than they do AA.

The "fake" versions of most genres tend to be better than the real deal. Metal, punk, hardcore, post hardcore. It's true in pretty much all cases.

Replace fugazi, at the drive in, alexisonfire and thrice with Black Veil Brides, The Relapse Symphony, I See Stars and Abandon All Ships, that's what the top 8 should be so far half who cares, half "hell yeah" Pity that most of those groups you named aren't really post-hardcore though.
