    @wanellin Don't worry about the long reply. It's always nice to talk with people who actually know their stuff. I am just talking from the point of how I experience these things. And I can agree with everything you wrote. However I still think it's hard to like something which has such a loose definition. You encounter this problem when you're trying to find some more some specific kind of electro house. I don't consider "Skrillex" electro house because his sound is so dark, heavy and very electro house unlike, filled with all the action sequences and breaks. Those characteristics fit better for dark trance/dark house or the dubstep (which I use to label all of this songs). Deadmau5 to me represents progressive house before anything else. Even if they have made songs which can be labelled as electro house. Which is why I consider something like "core artists" as a defining aspect to the genre. It helps at least me to organise things properly. I hope you understand. :)

    @AnXa That's not to say that this combination will always go by the more predominant name of Electro House, as the fusion of Dubstep with Drum & Bass has recently become widely recognized as Drumstep after a multitude of artist support, including Rob Swire of Pendulum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3ot-LMuPgs), but for now Electro House is known as a very flexible genre that encompasses much of today's club and commercial dance music. P.S. Apologies for the lengthy response. Just trying to explain to the best of my ability. :P

    @AnXa I respect where your opinion is coming from and I know exactly what you mean when you say there's a difference between K-pop electro house and everything else electro house. Although I do agree that the genre is still developing, I do not agree with your idea of trying to focus on determining precisely Electro House based on particular Electro House artists. Electro House is simply a genre that characterizes songs that lie roughly between 120~130 bpm that utilize the 4 on the floor beat familiar in House music and the high-pitched leads and heavy basslines familiar in Electro music, so basically the description of the genre of above which is highly accurate. If Dubstep elements are incorporated with Electro House elements, i.e. wobble basslines with a 4 on the floor structure, the fusion genre song is still, at this moment, considered to be Electro House solely because of the 4 on the floor structure of House that differs from the halftime structure signature to Dubstep.

Its forms are not stable yet and for example I do not consider Skrillex and deadmau5 as "electro house" artists because they just don't sound like the artists I listen which claim to play electro house. And while they have some similar characteristics, there's also a huge difference for example between korean electro house and electro house played in united states. They are almost like two different genres. So imho electro house is not solid genre yet. It needs more time to develop. And if possible I'd keep dubstep elements away from it. Try listening for example Mr.Funky and the acts he is in. :)

    @Icanhasbabies What are you talking about? Skrillex is more Electro House than anything else, and by far not solely a Dubstep artist. He just recently made Dubstep his main focus, but he's clearly still an Electro House producer. And deadmau5 has made many songs both as a Progressive House and Electro House producer. Somebody doesn't know their genres...
