Label tags are 100% viable. It's like saying 'motown' doesn't have a 'distinct sound'. It does! Tags don't equal genres. Tags are TAGS. Anticon is good peoples.

You can't compare Anticon and it's affiliates to the Wu-Tang Clan and it's satellite projects. Both acts are far too different. As it says in the description, Anticon is a "genre-defying label". If you want to argue who makes better hip-hop, in my opinion, the Wu-Tang clan takes that title for sure. But Anticon are unique in the sense that some of their music borders of avant-garde poetry over downtempo/hip-hop(?) beats. Now how many labels can say they release that kind of music?

i agree with cretinousfool. those "legend's" lyrics cannot be compared to anticon's lyrics. dont get me wrong, though. they had some dope production. anticon shouldn't be considered hip hop.

Dunno why people bother trying to narrow music down into all these different sub genres now. Seems fairly stupid to me, as far as i can see there are 2 types of music in the entire world. Music I like/Music I don't like.
