    RALPH TOWNER!!

This album had to represent a zenith as far as musical creativity goes... that's not to say that nothing original sounding has come after the early 70s fusion. But I think the past 35 plus years, record companies and the artists themselves have emphasized commercial viability and marketing at the expense of creativiy, originality and pushing the boundaries of music aesthetically. Creating original music in a legitamate way versus doing what sells by virtue of shocking ones senses with profanity, tastelessnes, and over-the-top sexuality has been unfortunately too few and far between during my lifetime.

Absolutely amazing music. For my money, the most imaginative, boundary transgressing jazz was made in the 70s and this is a prime example.
