Llegaba a esta edición del Tanned Tin sin haber hecho los deberes, predispuesto a ser sorprendido y con tan sólo un puñado de grupos de los que se pueda decir que soy seguidor acérrimo. Con un cartel que sobrepasa los treinta es bastante sencillo encontrar propuestas que no son del agrado de uno, aunque sinceramente el nivel este año ha sido exageradamente alto, con sólo un par de conciertos que no llegaron a dar la talla.

Por otro lado, y como novedad, en esta edición se prescindía del Auditori, concentrando toda la actividad conciertil en el Teatro Principal y en el Casino (para las sesiones matinales), todo un acierto ya que así todo está muy a mano y vas a los conciertos caminando tranquilamente desde tu hotel. También destacar los semi-improvisados miniconciertos de diez minutos que tenían lugar en los descansos entre grupo y grupo en la segunda planta del Teatro Principal. Allí repitieron muchos de los artistas del cartel de este año, como Paul Marshall, Ora Cogan o Barzin…

In Sound of Silver James Murphy produced the perfect foil for his debut, incorporating all the heroes he baited his listeners for holding up on ‘Losin’ My Edge’. There’s a lot of Bowie, Prince and Kraftwerk, there’s a lot of funk, electro, post-punk and there’s ‘All My Friends’, ‘Us Vs. Them’ and ‘Watch The Tapes’.
