So here are the albums which I find most important for me, in shaping my listening habits.
1. Best of Van Halen, Volume 1
This album was the very first one in my rock collection. I bought it somewhere around 1998-99, directed toward it by two songs: When It's Love and Can't Stop Lovin' You. Of course, this is a compilation not a proper album, but nevermind. This was the very first rock record which was truly very important for me. I used to know every song and every note off that. Right now I find myself listening to it less, but it will always have a place in my heart. What an amazing record. The guitar solos, the riffs, the overdubs, great rhythm, amazing vocals and this little thing that make a record truly rock: charisma and machismo. It's all here. The essence.
OK, after putting the Van Halen compilation back on shelf, I found myself loving Def Leppard. In reality, the first album of the Sheffield band in my library was Vault…
