Wrote this first bit yesterday as a shout on my own profile:

"Aw, I thought that Scrobbling would transfer my iTunes play HISTORY too, but it doesn't.... Oh well, I'm so happy about it anyway that it doesn't matter. :D Spotify doesn't have anything like this!"

:P Lol, I shouted it on my own profile. Anyway, it's unfortunate because there are many songs I've listened to hundreds of times (some more than a thousand) in the last year, particularly BUCK-TICK songs on the very top, and it would be cool to have that recorded/displayed. I would love to be listed as one of the top BUCK-TICK listeners here. Not because I like attention particularly, but because BUCK-TICK is my pride and joy of my music library and music life, and I'd love to have that reflected where it can be seen. It says a lot about me, I think....

Oh well, we will see....

Цыплят считают по осени, вот и я подвожу итоги прошлого года как раз к середине текущего. Как и в прошлом году, помимо лучших альбомов 2011 года, вниманием не будут обделены более ранние релизы, которые по какой-либо причине я не прослушал в год их выхода.

I was fourteen when I discovered new wave music in general. I'd been into metal and hardrock music for a couple of years, and my interest widened to other types of music that went against the grain of what was in the pop charts at the time. This was back in 1989.
The Sisters of Mercy were all over the place. I had a little network of record stores, t-shirt vendors, wave parties and concert venues where I went to discover new underground music and saw images of the Sisters' artwork and logo everywhere. The first album I actually bought and owned was 1987's Floodland.
The one I'm writing about here, however, is First and Last and Always (1985), which remains a definitive and lasting piece of work, as far as I'm concerned. It's a magnificently bleak and dark affair, yet possessing of a primal drive and clear sense of purpose that makes it compelling and alluring.

Sat 22 Oct – The Mission, Fields of the Nephilim, Gene Loves Jezebel

This was an eargerly-awaited gig for The Mission 's 25th anniversary.It turned out to have been worth the wait,I reckon.Opening act Gene Loves Jezebel played pretty well and got quite a few of the crowd joining in on songs like Desire-even down to the accompanying moves!
The Fields Of The Nephilim came next and a few more people appeared for their set-a competently played set with a good mix of newer stuff and older numbers, all delivered to the setting of plenty of dry ice atmospherics.I enjoyed the blend of McCoy's own brand of mysticism with the underlying energy of the songs-especially on slow-builder Forever Remain and the (dare I say it?) danceable Psychonaut Lib III.
The Mission are an act I've seen before and from that I was expecting a well-played set and expectations were definitely met there.Wayne Hussey ,a very good guitarist and an engaging frontman…
