ORGAN mag review... DEMO OF THE WEEK THE LAZY DARLINGS – This is good, four easy tracks, four gentle easy glowing simple tracks – and smiles and sunny delight and wholesomely good mellow indie alt.pop delivered with depth, crafted warmth and just a hint of Wilco style Americana. Four impressive intelligent sun-kissed songs, four slices of life and standing in the rain and sometimes the simple things are best and less is more. The Lazy Darlings are a collective of relaxed musicians - some from other Leeds bands such as I Concur, The Lodger, The Broken Record Players – a collective of musicians just kicking back and enjoying making some very fine mellow refined uplifting breezy, like is easy, songs that will make you smile – especially if you give them time and space to unwind and reach you, might take a few plays before you realise just how good the songs are, I seem to have been playing it on and off all day now... leedsmusicscene.net have reviewed the gig we played last wednesday and it's a beauty! you can read the full article at http://www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/9689/ "they really do steal the show - perching comfortably between country twang and indie pop sensibilities, the set is captivating. The inclusion of the strong, soul-tinged female vocals is particularly successful, adding to the almost deep south, spirited gospel feel, most evident on the rousing "Life Is Easy". The lovely, lilting ballad "See Her Smile" is, however, the song which comes across best this evening; the musically sensitive, dynamic drumming and gorgeous piano ostinato have me sold. We even get a sax and an excellent guitar solo elsewhere in the set - what more can we ask for?" we're playing the cockpit again this friday supporting the excellent Sennen, so come and see for yourselves! luv xxx
