    also, plenty of this music gets made now, and is more popular than ever. check out "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem -- it's one of the biggest singles of last year, and it's about an abusive relationship that ends with the guy threatening to tie the girl to her bed and burn down the house. moral codes haven't tightened since the '60s; on the contrary, they've dilated tremendously. and yes, that Eminem song is good (thought the album it's from is terrible).
