@oldwyoming The term screamo might not of been used in the nineties but it was definitely in use in the early 2000's and at the end of the day the only reason people use genres is to distinguish one sound from another. Bands like pg.99 sound nothing like shit like madball and most screamo fans probably don't want to be associated with tough guy hardcore and why does it matter if you called it hardcore then and didn't use the word screamo, it still is screamo.
