This is an amazing, beautiful song. I feel so entranced listening to this track. I really like the lyrics a lot here, even from a non-religious standpoint.

You don't need to be religious to feel something. Music transcends language and religion as a form of communicating.

just realized this shares a lot with Leonard Cohen's "Joan of Arc"

so i love this song wholly, doesn't matter what you believe as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, is openly damaging to the world or society, or shows specific hate towards a person or group of people. it's better and easier just to love each other and be happy regardless. please don't mind my sappiness. :)

Wow. So this is officially the ninth or tenth song I've heard by Sufjan that makes me cry. So beautiful! <3

this song is religious in nature so i'm not sure how you can avoid discussing that or your views about it when talking about it...

@sifelltneytandi, I care, so please don't speak for the planet. I'm an atheist, and it's nice to know others feel the same way as I do. Us irreligious have to tolerate far worse from the other side.

I love how people always feel the need to mention that, "I like this song...but don't worry I'm not religious lol!" Nobody fucking cares.
