A smiling face is an earth like star
A frown can't bring out the beauty that you are
Love within and you'll begin smiling
There're brighter days ahead

I'm white and I love this album...and anyway, there's no "black" or "white" music!

His blackest album? Stevie Wonder is universal, and this won the Grammy for album of year in '74, so it definitely isn't NOT popular. I don't get where any of y'all got the impression of this being directed towards black people more than his other albums.

I, even in my honkitude, would never downplay this album. I think generally speaking, African-Americans are more likely to have grown up with it. I was blessed to grow up with Talking Book and Innervisions, and did have to come to this album later; but I can surely see it as part of the peak.

Carole King & Stevie Wonder have to be two of the best lyricist in the world, everything they write you can so easily visualize.

This is by no means Stevie's best album imo, but it is still light years above other artistes. This song would be a career highlight for most.
