Ai ni Yukeru: If Muse changed their vocalist to Salyu, this is what it would sound like. Cheesy and annoying (with the most uninspired guitar work I've heard for quite a while), but more interesting than anything on the last album.
She really needs to release the song 'My Memory' which she has been playing live. She first played it at the Lily Chou-Chou reunion concert. She performed it with a video playing in the background that matches the song perfectly.. I couldn't believe what was happening in front of me.
I agree with most of you, Photogenic has a few good songs but is far inferior to her earlier albums... I feel like because s(o)un(d)beams was so experimental they made her stay really boring on Photogenic. >< Her best albums IMO are kokyuu, Terminal, Maiden Voyage, and s(o)un(d)beams, in that order.
But it is clear that much of the music we hear is related to the type of person we are, what experiences we had, and everything..., so sometimes you may have already "overcome" particular experience transmitted in music and therefore find it "boring "and in other cases you are living that moment, or still in another you will still go through it and so can not feel what the composer and singer was trying to express with that song .... may also be that you just want to be distracted, and for that, anything goes... I like to be touched by the music I hear, I do not listen for listening, but for me music only is music if she can thrill the listener.
Sorry for poor english, i'm still learning. XD
@Shunkerbella It's like I always say "give a chance for the album" ... listen again ... and again. ^^
For example, the same happened to me with the maiden voyage and Bjork, Tim buckley ... until I learned to appreciate the beauty of each composition and its peculiarities.
Until recently I hated to hear women singing (it's serious), I felt no emotion, looked so fake ... and look today xD
I'm listen Salyu, Ayaka, Norah Jones, Janis Joplin, Cassia Eller, Bjork ...
