So it turns out a bunch of Rome's best albums aren't on Spotify because he's being sued over his name by "Rome with Sublime," the shambling corpse of a band that should have ended when Brad Nowell died.

I'm still missing Flowers from Exile and Le Ceneri di Heliodoro, among others.

Parlez-Vous Hate? is surpisingly fresh. I will give it few more spins, and perhaps will call it second best to Masse Mensch Material.

Does anyone know what the precarious legal situation is ? What are the accusations, and who are the accusers? Whatever the situation, lets hope that it is resolved in ROME`s favour. As soon as possible.

Hansa Session II track list is pretty good. Only remains to see if it is as rock as the first one.

New album isn't great, but it isn't awful either. I appreciate that Jerome is playing with a few new styles - even if that experimentation falls a bit flat at times - and it still manages to have a fair few decent cuts. I still can't help but feel that Jerome is chasing the dragon of Le Ceneri Di Heliodoro, though. I could see myself starting to lose interest if he continues down this trend without bringing anything really interesting to the table.

I freaking love the new album, sounds like the most inspired record since a long while. I really didn’t like The Lone Furrow (way too messy and chaotic) and I found Le Ceneri di Heliodoro to be “just” good, but this new “tongue-in-cheek” record has way more focus, energy and inspiration than the last few years of his discography combined. Plus Alesia’s chorus reminded me I used to listen to Rome just for the lyrics alone.

I tend to agree with you. While I liked "The Lone Furrow", I agree it felt kinda disjoined. Some songs didn't feel like they belong to the same record. But " Parlez-Vous Hate?" is fantastic from start to finish with no fillers and feels tonally like a single vision. And I might say it's the catchies Rome release to date, almost caught myself humming with every song. "Alesia" is Rome at its best.

The new album sucks, unfotunately. It's derivative and boring, sometimes even cringy ("Born in the EU", "Panzerschockolade"). Moreover, Jerome is going further in his trend-following lyricism that started about two albums ago. He jumped a bandwagon and stayed there.

His latest albums are definitely not catching me as much as his older work. But I can still find a handful of nice songs from each new release, so I dont think its that bad. I'm just happy for him that he is experimenting into new areas he seems to enjoy, time will tell where this leads him. Its interesting to observe.

Le Ceneri di Heliodoro is good but tbh a lot of the lyrics on Lone Furrow sound like he read Julius Evola once and copy pasted some catchphrases. The lyrics to Kali Yuga Uber Alles could be neofolk parody. Just a little bit of a letdown in comparison to how rich his other stuff is.

And it's not just the message - it's also the oversimplistic way of building songs and textures.

"The Lone Furrow" is fantastic. I just wish Jerome would have utilize the incredible talent of all the guest artists more than just reading the lines for short monologues.

The Twain and On Albion's Plain were sung during the lockdown acoustic live from 'Fort NERA' and I think these two are beautiful songs. Also liked The Angry Cup.

Eh, I think the new album is the point in which Jerome transforms from an intelligent, subtle musician into a full blown Metal Gear villain. I do like roughly half of the album (especialy the last 15 or so minutes) but the rest of it feels like stupid sillness verging on autoparody. At least he got his chance at cosplaying Jacques Brel on "Palmyra", so that's a plus.

Wait, are the guys who took over this profile legitimately Nazis? I was just trolling before, but I'm seeing some very weird comments down below. Somebody said "They turned up the racism, and it made the album better?"

Conformists will never be able to understand the soul and emotionality of Rome. But the thing is, Rome is MID compared to other R&B artists. He is MID. But the conformists still won't be able to understand it or understand the emotions. The conformists are devoid of substance. They only like "neo-folk" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APmGdC2jb60

You got 16 scrobbles of your 'correct' Rome and none from our Rome. The question is then - why would you spam and attack neofolk if you never tried listening and you don't even care of what you are defending.
