I'd decided to give the album a run through before I went to sleep to see if it would click, so I was laying there in the dark, and then Thom's voice and those strings just completely hit me. I thought I was gonna have an out-of-body experience - just an unbelievable, life-affirming sensation and realisation. I try to avoid melodrama and hyperbole when I can, but this song really was life-changing for me. It still demolishes and then rebuilds me over the course of those 6 minutes every time I hear it.
