dso have been one of the most influential bands for me for the last year and i expected a lot from their new album. and it fulfilled what i was hoping for. it seems a little more accessible to me than the previous full length and the production reminds me of 'kenôse'. i'd prefer a sound similiar to the 'chaining the katechon' ep, which would still be my favourite dso-release, but it's still working well the way it has been done. most definitely a or most likely the highlight in 2010. alone for not failing my expectations at all.

i still remember how these guys released their debut and how i liked it for a while and from one day to another, i couldn't listen to it at all anymore. the second full length didn't impress me at all, but now 'blue sky noise' is most definitely their strongest record to date. it is so catchy, yet progressive and somewhat experimental, musically. …
