Its been a while now since I last scrawled something down. Its been a busy summer away from the screens which has been nice. But that also means no music as I am with the family more and the 'significant other half' doesn't function well with space rock on air. The boys like it so whenever we've been away I've had the car cd on and we've been driving to Galactika and Quantum Fantay and F/i amongst the staple choice of the missus and her love of Radio 2. I recently rented Space Debris' dvd and its not bad. And Planet Rock DAB helps in the kitchen ....

I see Ozrics have a new album soon, I pre-ordered it as I always do. They are my fav band, I've also ordered Steve Wilson's new solo deluxe version album.Well you have to really, they shoot up in value (especially deluxe Porcupine Tree albums!).

I have a list of DIY to do in the house so it looks like I will be listening to alot more music soon. Hope you're discovering lots of new tunes out there in the ether!

Here's what I scrobbled (PC & iPod Shuffle) mostly since mid 2010 from my archives. This sample only partially represents my taste at this day. I have few hundred CD's with other than electronic music, but I mainly play them on my stereo . I discovered Last.fm in 2007 and been using the site for about a year and then I went on hiatus, in mid 2010 I decided to come back and made more than 8000 scrobbles in 6 months. Now I just 'milestoned' my library.

sono andato a vederli unicamente perchè avevo comprato i biglietti per Elio e le Sotire Tese e Caparezza con la formula dello sconto cumulativo sui tre concerti.

li conosco molto poco e non vedevo un concerto così noioso da tantissimo tempo. Sono un amante dello space rock e quindi non mi spaventa la musica elettronica; semplicemente trovo questo gruppo enormemente sopravvalutato: forse a tanta gente i Subsonica piacciono per poter avere la scusa per farsi una serata in discoteca senza che non li si possa più chiamare "alternativi", non riesco a trovare altra ragione per ascoltare delle canzoni spesso totalmente prive di alcun senso musicale ed anche testuale: in particolare, i testi diciamo "cyberpunk" appaiono ben oltre il limite del ridicolo se si tenta di capirne il significato, qualora si abbia coscienza di cosa significherebbe ad esempio "cybernetica neurale", senza fermarsi al solo suono che producono le parole.

Yes, I'm still on something of a retro tip. After seeing a depressing "top selling dance songs of the noughties" list, I began thinking back to the stuff I loved in the nineties. I was, to be fair, heavily into big beat and drum and bass in my uni days, so this list might well be heavily skewed. But needless to say, there was far too much to squeeze into just ten songs, so this has spiralled into rather more than that. But, it all deserved mentioning, and as always, there are playlists to listen to them on.

Anyway, the way I'm going to do this is to split tracks into their respective genres, or at least as close as I can get to them. So, lets make the beats very big indeed to start with.
