Its much more easy to ban him, cause I never cared about his music anyway. But with Shanti...I struggle because the music is so great, and I later came to knew about what he had done. If I knew before I started listen to him, I might never listened to him again....

Every human has positive and negative sides - Shanti showed his in doing great music and helping people to find peace on the one hand, and doing the worst imaginable thing on the other hand. It's hard for me to listen to this great music knowing the story behind it, but yet its a call to overcome the own "dark side". It's a pity that he could not.

I'm so conflicted about him...I love this music very much, but the person behind it made some incredibly bad mistakes. Over 100 accounts of sexual abuse :/ I suppose it's just separating the music from the artist. The music can take a new refuge in someone's mind.

Oliver Shanti pops up a lot on my radios; I ban every track. This isn't on the principle that I don't like his music - in the past I've stuck several tracks on repeat for hours on end as a solution to many a stressful day - but instead that I couldn't possibly like Schulz himself. I'd never shake his hand and never, given an opportunity, befriend him. Many artists have their faults, and the occasional speeding ticket or verbal outburst I would overlook - it happens to us too - but his taking credit for others' work alone fills me with disgust, let alone his various confessions of child abuse. To associate Schulz with my musical tastes would be to associate him with me as a person, but I cannot relate to a plagiarist and, worse, a convicted paedophile.
