After her debut album “In Hindsight” (2009), Nejra was tired of being stuck in a musical box. The first album represented a long working process through feelings of loss and regret. But before working with the upcoming EP “Commonplace Heroes”, Nejra sought her way back to the musical roots of her childhood and relived music that got her listening to her Walkman late in the night when she was a little girl. The kind of music that got her stomach tingling, like songs by The Pretenders, The Police, Tom Petty, or The Cure. The result is the first single “Stay For A While” from the EP ”Commonplace Heroes”, which is inspired by the late 80’s without leaving the present. A song about loving and being right here and now.
