Biografi

Efter att ha bytt skivbolag till Up Records gjordes två skivsläpp: This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About (1996) och The Lonesome Crowded West, som blev bandets genombrott. 2000 släpptes på Up Records ett samlingsalbum med singlar och rariteter med namnet Building Nothing Out of Something.

2000 utkom även The Moon and Antarctica, Modest Mouses första album på ett stort skivbolag - Epic Records.

This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About.

Float On is their most popular song for a reason - it's really not a bad song. It's not my favorite, but would probably make my top 10. And at 4000+ plays, I definitely listen to Modest Mouse. I don't get why everyone talks it down so much. Anyway, Doin' the Cockroach might be my favorite. And Moon & Antarctica and Good News are probably my favorite albums.

My favorite Modest Mouse song might actually be Float On. I guess my 600+ plays don't count for anything then lol

If somebody's favorite song is float on, they probably don't really listen to modest mouse. [3]

Naturally, I'm struggling to find my "favourite" modest mouse song but whenever I hear heart cooks brain I get pretty close to declaring it my favourite song. But Anarctica was a huge grower for me. It grew for like years and years on me. God I love Lives. Yeah I guess Antarctica.

They are fantastic live, even without Eric Judy. The songs from Good News and WWD are about 1000x better live than they are on the albums.

Just ranting because of the increased ticket prices as I feel the band has done nothing but go downhill. I'm sure they're still good live but I'm not gonna throw $60+ for them, hell i'd be hard pressed to do it for 98 modest mouse. There are 6 new songs over youtube, and it's not the fact that they're in the set but rather that I don't wanna pay even more money than I did previously when I don't like anything they have done since the last time I saw them. Just how I feel. (sorry for ranting x2). Modest Mouse is not overrated. If somebody's favorite song is float on, they probably don't really listen to modest mouse.

Stefan, Float On was 10 years ago, they only have one album after that and it's totally solid. Mcbrett, what are you even talking about? They have like 3ish "new" songs and maybe 1 or 2 make it onto a setlist. Sucks about Eric Judy but they still sound great live.

Was thinking about seeing them again, 60$ GA at the same venue I saw them previously with no eric judy, shit new material, and still no new record (for which I might be thankful for). No thanks.

I cant listen to any of their studio albums after listening to Baron Von Bullshit Rides Again. That album is simply the most passionate and hard rocking Modest Mouse album.
