4 jun 2010, 07:12 av papiercalqueSat 29 May – Sasquatch! Music Festival 2010
Last.fm says that I have 99% compatibility with this festival so good thing I went!
This is a review but it is also a re-experience. I am going to go thru the festival as I saw it, thru my eyes and the video cameras of the lovely people that have posted their videos on youtube.
Fell asleep when the sun was coming up and woke up a few hours later. Waited in a long ass line to get into the venue, but at least Portland's own All The Apparatus was playing for the folks who were waiting. They were really good and even covered Nantes which was the perfect song for a beautiful sunny day in the Gorge.
Brother Ali was the first act we caught. He was fun, played a lot of songs of The Undisputed Truth which is a really great record. DJ Snuggles blew everyone away with his beatboxing skillz.
We scooted up front for Minus the Bear. The sound was really good, spot on.

17 dec 2009, 04:46 av notaninjaRolling Stone recently came out with their top 100 songs of the decade and it really disappointed me. Not only was their list mostly composed of major label artists, but it also lacked a lot of the hindsight of the past decade, focusing only on artists from the past few years.
I vowed then and there to make a better list -- I'm not saying that these are the best 100 songs of the past decade, but I think this list better represents artists large and small, singles and non-singles, and also reflects music of the past decade more than what Rolling Stone put out there. You're welcome to disagree with me as you like.
1. At the Drive-In - Arcarsenal
2. Radiohead - Knives Out
3. Shipwreck - Melusine
4. Deltron 3030 - 3030

7 aug 2009, 12:22 av kaese-chan1. How did you get into 29?
Into Iwrestledabearonce? Their video of Tastes Like Kevin Bacon was sent to me by, I think, a Japanese friend. And I was astonished by their greatness and turned into the huge fan I am now. (They're actually my third most favourite band ever.)
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Lostprophets... whew, that is a hard one. I think it was A Town Called Hypocrisy on MTV. It's such a catchy tune!
3. How many albums by 13 do you own?
None of Hennes Bender's actually. I just really like him as a stand-up comedian.
4. What is your favorite song by 15?
That's easy. For Hopesfall, my favourite song would be either The End Of An Era or East Of 1989; Battle Of The Bay. Both so beautiful.
5. What is your favorite song by 5?
Whoo, Killswitch Engage, there you go. I really really like My Curse because there are loads of memories tied to that song. But I like so many songs by KSE, I couldn't really pick one in particular.
6. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?

29 mar 2009, 01:58 av new_jane_swingSo today-one year ago-I joined last.fm. Sweet.
I never thought I'd be addicted to this site.
I've met some really interesting people here.
I realized how strange my music taste is-I'm surprised I have neighbors!
I hope I can meet more people who are just as weird (that's a good thing) as I am when it comes to music.
Okay,I honestly don't have much to say,so here's a rundown of my top five artists.
I'd do ten,but I'm feeling lazy,lol...
(side note:Please excuse my saying "awesome" so much. It just means I really like it.)
1.Bloc Party-Yay!!! I've been a fan for 2 years! A Weekend In The City was my first album and I instantly loved it,but I grew to love Silent Alarm even more. Intimacy is my latest obsession. It made me a little anxious at first because they changed their sound a bit,but I love it now! I hope I can attend one of their concerts one day. I hear they're wonderful live.
Kele,Matt,Russell,and Gordy-stay awesome! [there's one]
3 mar 2009, 03:50 av Cobwebs_Fri 27 Feb – Soundwave 09
Jaguar Love: 8/10. Don't get me wrong, I love Johnny Whitney and I love Jaguar Love but they had recorded drums, hence only the 8. But Johnny got into the crowd and it was pretty amazing and made up for the lack of a drummer. Who wouldn't love that man?
Minus the Bear: 11/10. In fact, 11 isn't high enough. Best band I have ever seen live. Best band ever really. From memory, they played Dr L'Ling, Throwin' Shapes, Hooray, The Fix, Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse, Thanks for the Killer Game of Crisco Twister, Knights and Pachuca Sunrise. Everything about their performance was perfect. They play better then on their cd's and their energy on stage is amazing. Energetic, yet relaxing. I didn't think it was possible to love this band even more.
Chiodos: 10/10. It's all in his name. Craig Owens, owns. They played really well despite having trouble setting up the sound for the keys. Craig's voice was 10 times better then what is recorded on cd and he's so funny! His stage persona is fantastic…
