Hi, I'd like to ask you to listen my new song. Atmosphere is chill and I use jazz/ambient elements. Thank you. https://soundcloud.com/thepathwayraspberry/city-garden-dawn-till-dusk

один из главных инструменталистов ХХ века, абсолютно все его работы вплоть до середины 70-х блистательны.

I was asked a while back who my single desert island artist would be. After a month or two debating whether it would be Kraftwerk, Scott Walker or Miles Davis, I chose Miles. From those first performances with Charlie Parker through to Amandla, I have it all and love the vast majority of it. I've enjoyed his work for three decades so far, here's to many more.

Bitches Brew is Miles at his best. I just love it's bubbling, boiling ferment of sound with ideas popping up all over, the album rolls like an endless wave.

Sure jazz didn't begin in the 1950s, but it didn't end in the 1950s either. Miles was crucial to development of jazz in new directions and actually represents that. I mean, 1959 is a crucial year within jazz's history with the coming of Kind of Blue by Davis, but also The Shape of Jazz to Come by Coleman. Both representing new schools of jazz that are to a certain extent, the antithesis of each other.

there´s a lot of swing musicians who were really nothing more than cover artists that you could call more overrated than this man, calling him the most overrated is ridiculous. of course the word overrated is childish no matter which way you stack it.

Sure he has some great moments, but he is clearly the most overrated jazz musician to ever live. Nothing on Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Django Reinhart. Not dissing Miles - just acknowledging the forgotten truth of jazz music - it didn't begin in the 1950s.
