The Mayhem gig started a 7:30. The band came on at 10:25 and finished at 11:15. They brought some support bands. I didn't care for one (or ones, I forget) before the last, but seeing as they were selected to tour by one of the definitive Black Metal bands, perhaps I have no taste.
The penultimate act was Dimension FH3. They peddle some form of Metal. It sounded slightly rouugh and unpolished, it really didn't sound too far off the Nu-Metal you hear on the radio. The band touched their music up with light touches of Progressive and at times, Industrial.
The main problem with the band was their lack of refinment and their atrocious lyrics, but they were of interest and people were dancing and applauding.
During the long-ass wait to see Mayhem, I met people from the year above me at school. We had a bit of a chinwag, but it was rather akwards, seeing as we just know each other, we aren't friends. No matter how cool they are.
Mayhem took quite some time to come on even after the second last bands played. …
