Deep inside we both know it.
Everything's hanging on this moment."

So just let go and fall into it."

half yearly review.
15 jan 2008, 00:48 av used_chemical
Here we are again.
31st December.
End of the year.
Not going out again, opportune time to write the year 2007 in review.
As of now, i've also reset my stats, so I'll be getting new charts from now on.
As with the last review, i'll talk about new artists i've discovered as well as a quick prediction for next half yearly review in June.
Top 50
50. The Early November - June '07 - No. 47 - Down 3
It seems that I was wrong about The Early November. Yes, they may have gone down the top 50, but they haven't gone completely, especially seeing as there are a lot of newer bands in the top 50. They probably won't be in the Top 50 for much longer, however i do still very much like them.
Favourite song:
Outside
49. Chiodos - New Entry
Ask me a year ago, "Will Chiodos ever be in your top 50?" And i would have said, "No chance." That was, however before their new album Bone Palace Ballet came out. It took me by surprise. It amazed me. Basically, when that came out, i listened to it an awful lot. … -

1. One Crowded Hour
2.
Red Orange Yellow
3.
Welcome
4. Everything We Had
5.

December 2005, Thailand... a memorable month, memorable place with memorable songs
13 sep 2007, 05:30 av dylangerescape
the other day, whilst i was searching for my Alexisonfire CD, i stumbled upon another. the CD read "Lagu2 Chiang Mai Dec. 2005". it was a mix CD i burnt 2 years ago to remind me of the good times i had in my school trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand. it consists of songs that remind me most of that memorable week where almost everybody was sick and the weather kept changing, making us more sick.
i then took a listen to it and all those memories came back to me. so rather than keeping you wondering, here are some (there were originally 24, but thats too much and you dont want to read that much, dont you?) songs from that CD that really reminded me of the good times i had... and plus i really have nothing else to do right now
1.Genetic Design For Dying- Aiden
i remember that when i first heard this, it was in the SH airport. apparently my close friends seemed to like this song at that time and i got to like them too. throughout the trip, this song was played nonstop in my friend Darnell's iPod. … -
Half yearly review
10 jun 2007, 21:35 av used_chemical
Thought i might as well do a review of my listening habits half way through the year.
I'll give a summary of the bands in my top 50, followed by great artists i've come to like within the last 6 months, closing with a few predictions for the End of 2007 Review.
Top 50 (As of 10th June '07)
50. Moneen - Dec '06 - No.32 - Down 18
It's a shame, i thought, and do, still think, Moneen are a good band. Perhaps i have just been neglecting them? Perhaps too many newer BETTER bands have come along. Whatever it is, it's not doing Moneen any good. I don't really see Moneen staying in the top 50 for too much longer, what with a number of very good bands not yet in the top 50, creeping up.
Favourite song -
This Is All Bigger Than Me
49. Bullets And Octane - New Entry
I got into this band a while back, when i saw them support Avenged Sevenfold way back in March '06. I didn't listen to them much at all since last summer, but recently, my music taste has been adapting, and i noticed the talent in this young band. … -
18 Song
8 apr 2007, 17:13 av used_chemical
A few days ago, i posted the 18 most influential bands in my life.
To add to that, i'm gonna list my 18 favourite songs and explain why i like them, and why they're important to me.
Again, the songs are in no particular order, but, my favourite song in the world, will be last.
1 -
Swing, Swing - First and foremost, this song, introduced me into the world of "rock". I may have gotten out of pop music through a different song. People can argue that The All-American Rejects are "pop" music, but I don't care. This is a quality song, and it's one that i've always loved. It's never been my favourite song, but, it's always been underlaying in my mind.
Favourite lyric - "My heart is crushed by a former love
Can you help me find a way
To carry on again."
2 -
Music Box - This was really the first song i fell in love with. From the moment i heard the music box intro to the song, aptly named, i thought, now this is a song. … -
Dream Gig.
