Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, mer känd som Lady GaGa, är en amerikansk sångerska från New York. Hon kommer från en italiensk-amerikansk familj och föddes den 28 mars 1986. Innan sin otroliga succé inom popvärlden var hon en oberoende rockartist på klubbarna vid Lower East Side i New York. Hon fick senare ett kontrakt hos Streamline Records när bolaget startades 2007. Hon skrev i början musik med andra nystartade musiker, tack vare detta lyckades hon fånga Akons uppmärksamhet som fick henne att skriva upp sig med hans skivmärke.

2008 släppte hon sitt debutalbum The Fame. Både Gaga och hennes album fick generellt bra kritik och hon blev även placerad som nummer ett på ett flertal musiklistor världen över. De första singlarna ”Just Dance” och ”Poker Face” blev över en natt internationella tophits och hennes album fick till slut sex stycken Grammynomineringar, och vann pris för bästa ”Electronic/Dance” album och bästa Dance låt på grammygalan 2010.

Gaga började med att vara förband åt New Kids on the Block och Pussycat Dolls, vilket resulterade i hennes första stora turné The Fame Ball Tour. I slutet av 2009 släppte hon sitt andra album, The Fame Monster, som innehåller megahiten ”Bad Romance”. Albumet innehöll åtta helt nya låtar, samt de äldre låtarna från The Fame. Även detta album blev älskat av kritiker.

GaGas musikstil är inspirerad av glamrockartister som David Bowie och Freddie Mercury, men även popartister som Madonna och Michael Jackson har utgjort inspiration.

most pop singers are sexed up dolls. they need to sell their music no matter what. they have a contract with their record label. gaga is one of them, she just does not make it a priority in her career, like many. she isn't even beautiful to start with. her talent makes up for that.

@panSmith. Tell me how she hasn't? She's inspired most people in the industry, even legends like Cyndi Lauper and Elton John who inspired her as a child. She's proved you don't have too be a sexed up doll too make it in the business, you can be yourself and still make it by relating too people.
