Newly Owned Physical CDs

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I was in the Virginia/DC area and instead of shopping for clothes and shoes I ended up splurging on music at the local CD Warehouse.

Here is the music I discovered, some new artists that were recommended to me and other artists that I have been meaning to listen to.

9. In This Life Together - Kindred The Family Soul
10. Knives Don't Have Your Back - Emily Haines
11. Under The Munka Moon - Alice Russell

I'll try to review some of these albums later but as of now I can say the Alice Smith and ALice Russell are AMAZING.

RSM: Beyond a Matter of Diversity

Even though I've never bought an issue of the magazine, it's clear to me that the Rolling Stone Magazine is a bit too prejudiced. Self-proclaimed "reviewers" at RollingStone.com obviously tend to give relatively-lower ratings for non-rock, vocal-heavy, smooth, lyrical and romantic music, such as some of today's R&B that's not so pop or dirrty.

While Cassie gets a 3.5/5-star rating from the magazine, why 2/5 stars to Keyshia Cole, Avant and Anthony Hamilton? Why 2.5/5 stars to Heather Headley? Why 3/5 stars to Kindred The Family Soul and Floetry? I can't believe they gave just 1/5 star to Tweet for her It's Me Again album.

It doesn't matter at all if you personally hate their music and the genre they're in, but when publically reviewing as a professional critic, could you take a little care how the fans (especially of the genre) feel about the reviews? Their pointless reviews make me wonder who the hell these mossy bigots are to mess with R&B instead of loving it. …
