I, I knew a boy, he came from the sea
He was the only boy who ever knew the truth about me
I'm overwhelmed and undersexed, baby, what did you expect?
I'm over wrought and so disgraced, I'm too ashamed to show my face

It's not about whether or not the fans want to hear it, it's about the fact that she has every right to rework a song that she wrote if she so pleases. Hole's music is pretty diverse, so it's not a big deal really. The only thing I can recall that she's done is recycle some song lyrics, but it's only been with b-sides and live improvised stuff. You don't see her rewriting "Violet" or "Malibu" and taking lyrics from that for new studio material. "Sugar Coma" was a pretty unevolved song that eventually became "Boys on the Radio". Maybe she wasn't totally happy with either of those songs, so she took parts of them and wrote this. We'll never know.

I keep trying to turn up the volume on new Hole/Courtney Love songs to try and find anything resembling rock, and failing. It's got no soul or swagger. C'est terrible!

How can anyone have a right to rip off their own material? I don't think fans want to hear their favourite band recycle the same song repeatedly. Well, unless they're Oasis fans.

In all fairness guys, she wrote the lyrics and largely contributed to (if not totally wrote) the music for "Boys On the Radio", so she's got every right to rework her own material if she wants to. The riff is similar, yes, but in actuality, this song has a much simpler chord progression (F, C, G, repeat) than "Boys On the Radio". I think you guys are referring to "Sugar Coma", because that song uses the same exact chord progression with a slightly different rhythm.

I don't care if she ripped off "Boys on the Radio", This song would have been so amazing on Celebrity Skin.
