It wasn't in the movie, Speedway, it was just tacked on to the film's soundtrack. Though I read somewhere that this song may have influenced John Lennon's "Imagine".

Speedway's actually from 1968 (release). Anyway, I don't think Suppose's "a bit on the cliche side". It's simple; but deep. Beautiful; but suicidal. About love; but so grieving... I'm facing hard, hard times now and this song comes to my mind. "Suppose I had no wish to be alive / Suppose you didn't love me..."

A bit on the cliche side...but it isn't bad, and it is more proof Elvis could perform many different styles very well.

this song is from one of those cheezy movies - SPEEDWAY soundtrack. This version is from the Home Recordings cd. The songs are this cd are a compilation of tunes from his time in Germany, at Graceland and the Palm Springs house. Given that SPEEDWAY came out around 1966, my guess is that this particular version was recorded at either Graceland or Palm Springs.
