Lou Poster is my guest. We talk about the Summit opening and play numerous bands playing the two-night extravaganza. Thanks to Kyle of Lost Weekend Records for providing about half of the stuff, including a couple rarities. Some treats include a Cheater Slicks song from a souvenir 7" from their 10th anniversary show at Bernie's in 1998. Fri 7 Sep – Cheater Slicks, Woman, Haunted George, Guinea Worms

Don Pedro's reminds me of a combination of 1/4 of the shows I used to go to at squats and 1/2 Williamsburg 4 years ago with 1/4 Williamsburg now. The drinks were too expesive so next time I bring my own.

Haunted George was excellent. Lofi, gravely, two dudes, two guitars, one mic, and a kick and snare operated both by foot pedals, and it was the best band that night. Tim Warren of Crypt played great records. The band before Haunted George was fine but missable. They finished, but started coming back to their instruments, but before they could the DJed music came on (thanks, Tim). Cheater Slicks were good, but it was late as hell and my mind wasn't blown, so we left halfway through their set. They're definitely a good band but I was too spent for it.

Also I'm trying to book them a show with Jay Reatard in NYC if anyone can help out at all.

In recent dork news: I challenged myself to come up with the best possible "Greatest Hits" for the Cheater Slicks. I wanted to compile a list of what I'd consider their best songs that would fit in a single 70 minute disc. I actually tweaked this over the course of several months whenever I'd listen to the Cheater Slicks in iTunes. I've been listening to this off & on for a couple of weeks, and it's got the perfect songs, and they're in the perfect order (at least I think so). This is the album I'd make if I were in charge of compiling this imaginary project.

Note: I don't have "On Your Knees," so that album is left out.
