Willie Brown use to hang out in Son House's house & they played together & Robert Johnson used to come over & they will tell him to stop playing that racket guitar of his & then Johnson left for about six months & came back playing some great guitar. I don't believe that he sold his soul to the devil in order to play the guitar better then anyone but i do believe that someone taught him some great cords on the guitar & practice makes perfect. No one knows about those six missing months but he did hop on a train & went up north. Charlie Patton taught many people but so did Son House so it goes up the line from one to another & many learned by themselves at a young age & by playing with others they learned more like Buddy Guy played with Son House when Buddy was young & picked up a lot from Son House so did Hubert Sumlin which that i do know because he told me himself.

Robert Johnson used the melody for 'from four-till-late' from this tune.

Don't know about this here sheriff, high or otherwise, but I'd surrender to Charley Patton, without complaints.

Great voice. A heavy entertainer, who could play his guitar behind his back, I'm told.

This is not High Sheriff Blues by Charlie Patton. This track appears to be improperly labeled. This track is actually Pig Meat is What I Crave by Bo Carter.
