capsule är en elektronisk duo, grundad i Kanazawa, Japan 1997 av Yatsuka Nakata (producent, art director) och Toshiko Koshijima (vokaler). De är med i -rörelsen som startade 1990, främst av Pizzicato Five. I mars 2001 släppte de sin första singel med Yamaha Music, ”Sakura”. Deras musik innehåller element av bossa nova, ye-ye, nu jazz, lounge, breabeat och på sistone electro house. 2003 skapade Yasutaka sitt egna skivbolag, contemode, och har producerat andra artister på skivbolaget, så som Perfume, COLTEMONIKHA, NAGISA COSMETIC och Meg. Nakata har beskrivit musiken producerad av contemode fungerar som ”en accessoar till mode” och bandets musik kan ofta hittas i modebutiker i Shibuya, Japan.

    If you don't think that either High Collar Girl, LDK or Phony Phonic are the best capsule albums you are doing it wrong. Their last truly good album was Fruits Clipper, I would go as far as saying it's MMM but Edit is too tacky and kinda ruins everything.

I still haven't found any band that sounds like capsule's early ish albums, l.d.k. lounge designers killer, s.f. sound furniture, etc ...if anything, their current style is definitely a lot more generic and Nakata is clearly trying to be more mainstream ... and, Pizzicato Five cover band ?? seems like you only heard a song or two by P5, if at all.
