Burst är ett progressivt metalband från Sverige, hyllat för att göra musik som är helt egen, hårdslående och starkt känslostyrd. Bandet delar själva in sin historia i två delar - den innan 1999 (när den nuvarande sättningen kompletterades) och den efter. Bandet har släppt tre hyllade fullängdsalbum på Relapse Records, och turnerat världen runt på egen hand eller som förband till Opeth, Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan m.m.
2006 fick de P3 Guld-priset för Årets Rock/Metal, för albumet Origo, och nominerades återigen till P3 Guld-priset liksom Manifestpriset i kategorin 2008 års bästa hårdrock/metal för albumet Lazarus Bird.

It is just a clever way of saying how unique the band is. It is more logical to say they are less concerned with fashion since they don't have any of those aspects to divert them from normal attire or look. And to the person below me, that is just ignorant and you may be trolling, but I am unsure.

i am not saying they are bad, and i have only listened to lazarus bird because i'm under the impression that their earlier albums are more loud and "hardcore" than progressive. to me, this band is like a version of the ocean who couldn't take the criticism of changing their musical approach, which i feel is really, really unfortunate. lazarus bird is a cool ass album, i like all the songs, but it's just when i'm down for some wankery, they won't even let me do it..... ):

They aren't too progressive at all, Burst appeals to almost everyone. Being too progressive would be wanker bands that try to hard and write shitty music still. "Burst - Lazarus Bird [2008]" is my favorite record from there discography. Every song works well and kicks some major ass. Burst and Memfis deserved more publicity. Lazarus Bird and it's almost perfect blend of modern metal styles make it overlooked as fuck.
