Here's a guide of sorts to 100 artists that inhabit the world of drones, ambients, noise and all the tiny variations within and between, both metal and beyond. One release per artist (aside from a few collaborations which I felt were of high quality and worthy of being mentioned). A few embellishments here and there as well which may not fall under the umbrella the title suggests but to me they contain something of the spirit.
For those of you that have Spotify a large majority of these artists can be found on there. I've made two playlists incorporating them. The more drone and dark ambient oriented ones can be found here and the noisier ones here.
