So I listened to Blouse a while, and liked them, thinking hey this fits into that dream pop sound I like so much, it's from my favorite label, but I wasn't totally crazy or anything. After hearing this song, though, I'm in love. This is clearly the vocalist's musing over what the experience of death consists of. She's asking all these questions, "Could it be as simple as a scream / and will it be as lonely as it seems?" And seems to conclude only that "I'll feel like a shadow / of a thousand leaves." The leaves could be her thoughts, experiences, anything really, evanescing back into nature. That bittersweet sentiment is reflected really well in her vocals and the melody.
