    I actually vastly prefer his sudden shift to a quieter sound. Retake was a more mature direction that ran circles around his previous works in terms of inventiveness and impact. I left Retake remembering more than half the tracks days after the first listen, while I still can only remember tetrascroll off the bat after three listen. Killbots has the same problem, but I know it must be good because I find myself thinking that it was time well spent listening to them, unlike Blasterhead Works 1995-2003, which was sounds like a collection of Alec Empire B-Sides.

    Totally opposite, mate--I never thought anything of his stuff before Retake. But this album? I put this on, hit repeat and let it take me away for hours and hours. "Pessimist" is about as good a trance-style song as I've ever heard in a very long time.
