I attempted to listen to every record I could this year and did it for about a month before life got in the way. I didn't jam nearly as many records as I'd have liked to, but I did get through a lot and of what I heard, these are my favorites. This list is overly detailed but w/e I am a nerd and I like to write shit.

LP's:
1) Aesop Rock - Skelethon
Best Hip-Hop record I have ever heard. The lyrical clarity present here has not been heard on any prior Aesop release and the complexity is still a step above almost any other Hip-Hop artist.. Complex and layered beats and thick production accent an Aesop who has got his flow down to a science. The amount of focus present in the actual sound of the record, and in the subject matter is incredible. This is a perfect record and the final track on the record(Gopher Guts) is one of the best endings to any record I've ever heard.
