Fairy Tales and Monsters
On 11th June I will be singing with The Age of Not Believing Orchestra at King's Place in London. This orchestra features members of The High Llamas, the Red Clay Halo, Homelife, Beth Orton accompanist Ted Barnes, plus a six-piece brass section and 30-strong choir. This concert is part of the Fairy Tales and Monsters Festival curated by Arctic Circle and will be a really unique show - one not to be missed!

Gill Sandell at The Green Note
On the 14th July The Sleeping Years will be supporting Gill Sandell at The Green Note in London. For the last few years Gill has been the accordionist and flautist with Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo (who have recently provided the title music for the BBC2 Drama series 'Wallander' and 'The Shadow Line'). This will be Gill's first headline show with her own band.

Next month will see the third LP group listening session on Twitter. This month's theme is "Written/Performed by Women."

Recently I hit '1300' artists in my library, so I thought I'd make a list of them all for posterity! Of course, I already removed one of those artists frmo my library during this process (it was my music, but under the wrong name...) and there are others I can probably get rid of immediately. But I want to take care in doing so.

Oddish Emissions - Sohail Rana, James Yancy (J Dilla, Jay Dee, Dilla), Slum Village, Super Smoky Soul, Implosion Quintet (James R Baker), Astor Piazzolla and B.B. King; Michael Peters ( "Soaring In Circles" has quickly become a favourite), the album "Picatrix - Quaestio Prima", and composer Luigi Seviroli. I made a note to spend some time with Delerium's early releases, Goblin, Umberto, Zombie Zombie, Xander Harris, Mordant Music, Raime, Demdike Stare, and to look through the offerings of label, "Finders Keepers." Enough to keep me busy for a week or two, for sure! ; )
