  • Have I done this?

    28 okt 2007, 20:22 av jet-setter

    1. What are you listening to right now? Rubber Soul.
    2. What song makes you sad? Currently, Hey Jude, because he’s not singing it to me.
    3. What is the most annoying song in the world? Sandstorm. That is why I love it more than life.
    4. Your all time favorite band? I'm not even going to say.
    5. Your newly discovered band is? I don't have one of those, actually. I've had a newly revived favorite, though - Bedouin Soundclash. The new album is great.
    6. Best female voice? Either Neko Case or Jenny Lewis. Don't make me choose.
    7. Best male voice? Rick Davies, of course.
    8. Music type you find yourself listening to most? Pretty much...I like anything experimental.
    9. What do you listen to that hype you up? Queen usually does the job.
    10. What do you listen to that calms you down? The Perishers or the obvious band that starts with K.
    11. Last gig/concert you went to? I honestly don't remember. Which sucks. I've given up many gig opportunities to save some money.

  • My changes in taste.

    28 maj 2006, 23:56 av ms-jojo

I was just thinking about the types of music (as in genres) I listen to, and have discovered that I am easily influenced by the media and my friends and their taste in music. And how my music tastes have changed.

The first music I can remember listening to and liking were my parents' old mixed tapes of their favourite 80s/90s Chinese songs. My sister and I would memorize the lyrics to songs by Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Faye Wong, Alan Tam, Sally Yip, etc and sing at the top of our lungs in the car.

I didn't paid attention to any English music until I started elementary school and heard about The Spice Girls. I absolutely loved them. My sister and I would collect the Spice Girls merchandise (candy, stickers, books, pictures) and keep them in our little Spice Girls bag. We even started a Spice Girls Junior thing with my cousins where I was the Junior Baby Spice. It was the beginning of my pop loving phrase.

By then, I stopped caring about Chinese music and started listening to boy groups such as The Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC
