17 dec 2006, 03:13 av loveanddeathwell, as of thursday, I am a one year last.fm member. woohoo for me etc. so I figured I'd do some kind of tribute to my musical devotion and say a few lovely things about my top artists who have stuck it out with my itunes for these past 365 (actually, more like 368 now...) days.
Broken Social Scene
ah yes, good old Broken Social Scene. I guess you can't properly be an indie hipster conformist whore without loving your share of BSS...I mean, you've gotta give me props for buying my first BSS album in Toronto, even though I live quite a ways from Canada... but does it really count for anything? I've had their self-titled album for as long as it has been available for general consumption and I just realised about a month ago how much I like it, whilst listening to it in the car in Vermont. I guess being in Vermont will make you appreciate the things you take for granted...
favourite album: Feel Good Lost.. why? because it has so many good tracks that are incredibly good for falling asleep to.

9 jan 2006, 19:13 av dontquotemeHello fellow last.fm user,
Since 1000 tracks i have been listening to some other artists. I bought Bright Eyes 'Lifted' and i like it, but it still requires some more listens i think. That was my second Bright Eyes album after hearing I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning which i love. Next i got my second Sufjan Stevens album after 'Illinois' which was Seven Swans. I'd already heard That Dress Looks Nice On You and To Be Alone With You and both are really lovely tracks. A band that i've recently started listening to is Architecture in Helsinki. I have Fingers Crossed and their style is kind of mellow but cheerful... i can't really explain... but their songs make me feel happy :). They have lots of good melodies and use many instruments to good effect in their songs. A track that i heard before that i really like is Scissor Paper Rock. I'd definitely recommend this track.
My two favourite songs of the past few weeks are:
