Animal Collective är en amerikansk experimentell och psykedelisk musikgrupp från Baltimore som bildades 1999. Medlemmarna i bandet är David Portner (Avey Tare), Noah Lennox (Panda Bear), Josh Dibb (Deakin) och Brian Weitz (Geologist), dock varierar medlemmarna mellan varje album. Sedan starten har bandet givit ut åtta studioalbum. Debutalbumet Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished släpptes 2000.
Gruppen driver även skivbolaget Paw Tracks där de släpper en del av sitt eget material samt material av andra artister.

Please take the tag off of experimental. Animal Collective is not "experimental" and if the tag stays on there then my individual brand may be compromised as some HIPSTER might get the smart idea that this "band" is some how relevant to the experimental scene. Please take the tag off and properly allocate your genres correctly next time so I don't have to waste my time on actually listening to your band before I decide your genre and entire self worth as a human is garbage.
