    Casablanca Moon

    Casablanca moon

    ちなみにSLAPP HAPPYが来日したとき、前座で対バンしたのがphewさんでした。知る人ぞ知る所謂「系譜」(ダグマー・クラオゼ(Dagmar Krause)→phew→戸川純)って奴(ファン繋がりって説もある)ですよね。

    怪詩人ピーター・ブレグヴァドの、ルイス・キャロルも真っ青な言葉遊びやアナグラムやジョークが縦横無尽に飛び交う原詩。ロクス・ソルスから出てる『アクナルバサック・ヌーム』についてたファン待望、垂涎のマトの対訳歌詞カードの訳が、見てみてあまりに無味乾燥でガッカリだったんで、以下、もう無理矢理な意訳だけど、僕自作の訳詞です。

    。。っていうか、普通の洋楽専門の翻訳家に頼むなよな。これって英文学者、それも柳瀬直樹さんクラスの方の出番だぜ!

     *  *  *

    彼が昔かぶってたのはフェードラだけど、
    今ひけらかすのはトルコ帽
    語る言葉のすべてに謎めくカバラの暗号文
    人をタバコの煙に巻きながら
    思考の糸を紡いでみせる、
    カサブランカ・ムーンの月明りの下

    彼は新聞を広げて身を潜め
    モスクの影に身を隠す
    数え切れぬ大陸を股にかけ、
    結社の者たちの足跡を追い回し
    旅を重ねること幾星霜、
    アクナルバサク・ヌームの月影の下

    だが彼の化けの皮も破れて剥げた
    ホボーケンの何処かだったという
    黒幕の男いわく、この事件は迷宮入りさ
    アイツは東方に送り込まれた
    二重に裏切る二重スパイだったのさ

    彼の口ひげにはコカインが染み付いている
    彼というパズルは最後まで完成しない
    上部の人々は彼の幾多の顔を
    コーカソイド汎用通貨に刻印したがっている

    彼のことには気をつけろ
    彼の首無し死体がどこかの通風孔から
    見つかるのも時間の問題

    金箔のように光る幾筋もの汗が
    彼の両目に激痛となって流れ込む
    彼の取り澄ました変装の仮面をひび割って
    射精されるのは神経症の発作
  • Review: Hoppy Kamiyama - A Meaningful Meaninglessness

    7 nov 2005, 22:39 av Fidgital

While Fidgital was on tour in Japan this summer, I met up with Hoppy Kamiyama for a chat about each other's music production styles. It was an honour for me, since Hoppy is so successful and well-respected in the Japanese music industry.

Those of you outside of Japan may not know Hoppy's work, but he's been around and successful since the 1980s, where he made a name for himself with his band Pink (not linked because it'll go to the wrong place!) and PUGS. Hoppy's worked with everyone from Bill Lawell to Towa Tei, and produced records for dozens of artists including eX-Girl, Chara and Jun Togawa. Besides his work for Japanese major label popstars, he also has several more artsy side projects blending jazz, ambient, techno, punk rock, noise, and more. These include The Saboten, Daimonji and The Bubbleman. I could go on and on (and already have!)...

Anyway, on to Hoppy's 2005 solo release, A Meaningful Meaninglessness. The album is brilliant…
